Achieving a natural, no-makeup look is often more challenging than full glam. I start with deep skin prep using products like Embryolisse to ensure the face is properly hydrated. This ensures the foundation does not sit on top of the skin, but instead settles into a dewy, natural finish that holds up under harsh studio lights without looking heavy.
For clean beauty, the secret is in the layering. I use thin, buildable foundations like MAC Studio Fix or PAC HD so the skin looks like skin, not a mask. For editorial or portfolio work, lighting changes everything. I adjust textures based on whether we are shooting in natural daylight or under strong studio strobes.
My Approach to Clean Beauty
Skin Preparation I never skip cleansing and hydrating. It is the foundation of everything. When the skin is prepped correctly, it reflects light naturally, which reduces the amount of product needed.
Product Selection I rely on HD foundations and sweat-proof primers like Urban Decay, which are essential when you are on set for hours. These products are designed to prevent flashback, ensuring you look your best in every frame.
Adaptability If it is an e-commerce catalog, we keep it clean. If it is a creative shoot, we can push the definition with graphic liners or glossy textures while keeping the base fresh. I work closely with the photographer to sync makeup textures with the lighting setup.
