I create custom saree tassels, or kuchu, to give your saree a beautiful, complete look. This video shows a design with alternating magenta and cream thread tassels on a gold silk saree. We can discuss color combinations and patterns to perfectly match or contrast with your pallu.
About Handcrafted Saree Tassels (Kuchu)
When I add tassels to your pallu, I do not just tie threads and hope for the best. I select the thread weight based on your specific silk fabric, ensuring the finish is durable enough to withstand washing while helping the pallu hang with the right amount of weight. It is about getting that subtle, professional look that makes your saree feel complete.
Your Kanjeevarams and silk sarees deserve a finish that lasts. I provide three tiers of tassel work (Kuchu) depending on your needs. For daily wear or office silk sarees, I offer standard pallu finishing like machine pico or hand-knotted self-threads to prevent fraying. If you want something more decorative, my 'Baby Kuchu' service adds 60 to 80 handcrafted silk thread bunches spaced evenly across the pallu, bound with Zari and optional beads.
For weddings or special occasions, I specialize in bridal crochet and designer tassels. This involves creating a hand-crocheted lace border directly onto your pallu, often incorporating antique beads, crystals, and dense silk hangings for a heavier, grander look.
I believe in keeping the process simple. Since I am based in Bengaluru, most clients prefer to drop off their sarees at my Jayanagar, Mathikere, or Bharat Nagar points. If you cannot make it, you are welcome to send them via courier or delivery apps like Dunzo. Every saree is unique, so we will discuss color combinations—whether you want a perfect match or a bold contrast—before I start the work. My goal is to ensure your saree stays safe, looks elegant, and is ready for your next event.
