Unique Hand-Embroidered Sarees Inspired by Heritage
We create exclusive sarees by blending traditional stitches like Kasuti and Kantha onto pure, natural fabrics. Each piece is hand-embroidered in our Bangalore studio, designed to be a wearable legacy.
This indigo tussar silk saree was my personal project during a quiet time, a canvas for combining many embroidery forms I love. It features Sashiko, Kantha, Kutch work, Kasuti, and even Brazilian embroidery, all brought together in a harmonious design.

This custom-made Mangalgiri saree showcases a blend of cultures with Indo-Japanese Sashiko embroidery. The geometric running stitches create a subtle, elegant pattern against the deep blue cotton, with a traditional golden border.

The body of the Kanjeevaram saree features smaller, delicate floral butis, connecting the heavily worked border and pallu. Each motif is placed with care to create a balanced and beautiful design.

About Hand-Embroidered Sarees
My embroidery process goes beyond the surface. When you inspect a saree from our collection, you will notice the meticulous finishing on both sides of the fabric—a standard we follow for every piece of Kasuti or Kamal Kadai work. We do not just add designs; we create art that respects the integrity of the base fabric, whether it is a lightweight Mangalgiri cotton or a rich, zero-zari Kanjeevaram silk.
At Sameeksha, our approach to sarees is rooted in slow fashion. We believe a garment should tell a story and last for generations. Each saree we work on is a canvas for heritage techniques that we adapt for the modern woman.
Our Embroidery Techniques
We blend over 25 distinct embroidery forms. You will find geometric precision in our Kasuti work, the meditative running stitches of Japanese Sashiko on breathable cotton, and the three-dimensional textures of Kamal Kadai on our Kanjeevaram silks. We also experiment with reversible "Flip" designs, where we combine block prints with detailed needlework to offer two distinct aesthetics in one saree.
Customization and Craft
Everything we produce is exclusive. We avoid mass production. When you choose a design, we work with you on the colors and motifs. We source pure fabrics like Tussar, crepe, and handloom cotton to ensure the embroidery holds beautifully.
Caring for Your Saree
Hand-embroidered pieces require mindful care. Because we use natural threads and often dense stitch patterns, we recommend gentle hand washing or professional dry cleaning to keep the motifs intact. These are not fast-fashion items to be discarded; they are heirlooms designed to be worn, loved, and passed down to the next generation. If you have an old favorite saree that needs rejuvenation, we can also discuss adding custom embroidery to bring it back to life.
Sameeksha
We are Sameeksha. For us, embroidery is a way to keep stories alive through needle and thread. We work slowly, deliberately, and with a lot of heart, turning simple fabric into keepsakes you will want to pass down.
