Our monthly baithaks provide the stage where students transform their private riyaz into public performance. Witness the Guru-Shishya tradition coming alive through these intimate concerts.

Music bridges generations at Sangeet Sadhana. This image from our last concert captures students of all ages, from young children to senior learners, sharing the stage and shedding their inhibitions to sing their hearts out.

We extend our musical offerings beyond the classroom, providing performances for private events. This poster announces a musical evening featuring our Sarod maestro Shri Madhusudan Rajam and the dynamic laykari of our tabla guru Shri Ashwin MP.

About this collection

In our baithaks, we ensure students perform with professional live accompaniment. It is not a digital backing track; it is the raw, responsive tabla and harmonium support that teaches a performer to navigate the nuances of laya and tala in real time. This is where the student moves from practicing notes to truly understanding the art of presentation.

Many academies treat performance as an afterthought, a recital held once a year. At Sangeet Sadhana, the baithak is the heartbeat of our pedagogy. When a student sits on the mat to perform, they learn that music is a conversation. The harmonium player does not merely follow; they challenge the singer to maintain pitch accuracy, while the tabla player demands precise laykari.

We host these sessions to bridge the gap between rigorous riyaz and the vulnerability of the stage. Whether it is a toddler finding their first swara or an adult meditating with Raag Bhairav, every student is provided a platform to share their progress. These are not commercial shows but traditional gatherings held in our Bangalore school at Koramangala.

By engaging with live accompaniment, students develop the stage confidence required for Hindustani classical music. We observe that once a student faces the baithak, their approach to daily practice changes; they begin to listen more deeply to the rasa and history behind each composition. We invite you to witness this transformation, where the focus remains on the purity of the raga and the dedication of the shishya.
