Why I Teach Tabla Online
Music is sadhana for me - a way to connect, not just perform. What I offer is more than just online Indian classical percussion lessons. I pass on what my Guru, Ustad Chhamma Khan, gave me - the soul of the Delhi Gharana.
What Makes My Lessons Different
- Everything centres around the purity of Delhi Gharana tabla techniques. You won't find shortcuts here, only real, deep learning.
- I teach through Guru-Shishya online teaching, so even if we’re miles apart, I stay involved in your progress. Expect honest feedback, sometimes strict, but always personal.
What You’ll Learn
- Start with the basics - bols, the tabla alphabet. Simple, direct, and practical.
- Dive into playing Kinar and Syahi for that signature Delhi sound.
- Build your skills in tabla rhythm cycles training, with Kayeda, Palta, Rela, and Gat.
- For those who want more - I teach the math of taals, and rare solo performance techniques.
- I also show you how to accompany singers, instrumentalists, dancers.

My Story
Namaskar, we are Sangeetika School of Music. My tabla journey started with my guruji, Ustad Chhamma Khan, Delhi Gharana. Ishwar ki kripa hai (God’s grace), I’ve played from Russia to China, teaching what I learnt. In 2005, we started Sangeetika to pass on this legacy. Now, our students—some from Russia, Tanzania, some my own family—feel like one big family. Every child’s different, so we help them find their own beat.
