Why I Teach Tabla
For me, tabla is not just music - it’s sadhana, a spiritual practice. My teaching is a tribute to my Guru, Ustad Chhamma Khan, and the pure Delhi Gharana tradition. That’s the heart of Sangeetika School of Music. Passing on rare gems of this style to the next generation means everything to me.
What Makes My Workshops Different
These are not your regular lessons. Each online tabla masterclass dives deep into one topic, from beginner to advanced. I design sessions for anyone who loves tabla - young learners, pros, or just curious folks from all over the world.
What We Get Into
- Delhi Gharana tabla technique: Clear, precise sound using just the right finger movements and the secrets of the kinar and syahi.
- Tabla rhythm science: We break down talas, layakari (rhythmic play), and the math behind the beats.

How It Happens
I teach live, online, so anyone can join - no matter if you’re in Kolkata or California. Sessions are tuned to fit different time zones.

My Story
Namaskar, we are Sangeetika School of Music. My tabla journey started with my guruji, Ustad Chhamma Khan, Delhi Gharana. Ishwar ki kripa hai (God’s grace), I’ve played from Russia to China, teaching what I learnt. In 2005, we started Sangeetika to pass on this legacy. Now, our students—some from Russia, Tanzania, some my own family—feel like one big family. Every child’s different, so we help them find their own beat.
