Custom Portrait and Figurative Mehndi Designs
Bring your wedding story to life with custom portrait henna. I specialize in precise, detailed figurative work that captures couple portraits, deities, and special memories on your hands.
From a photograph to a beautiful henna design. This video showcases a custom couple portrait I did for a client, capturing their likeness in the mehndi.
This full-arm design tells the story of a royal wedding procession. It features intricate figures of a bride and groom in a doli (palanquin), showcasing my skill in detailed figurative work.
A divine Radha-Krishna design for a client who wanted something spiritual. The full-arm work includes the deities, elephants, lotus flowers, and a sacred kalash pot.
See my process for creating deity figures. The top panel shows the initial sketches of Radha and Krishna, and the bottom panel shows the final, detailed mehndi application.
This design combines different figures. One palm features a woman in prayer, while the other has a majestic elephant, both surrounded by traditional patterns.
About Custom Portraits & Figurative Mehndi
Getting a portrait on your hand requires more than just skill; it needs the right consistency of henna. I use a specially prepared triple-sifted paste for these designs, which allows me to draw those tiny facial features and architectural lines that stay crisp without blurring, ensuring the resemblance is clear once the color peaks at 48 hours.
When you book a custom portrait design, you are not just getting a standard pattern. This is specialized work that requires my senior team members to handle the intricate shading and negative space techniques.
My Process
- Reference Check: I study the photograph you share to understand the angles and facial expressions before I start drawing.
- Architectural Framing: I often use traditional Jharokha (palace window) motifs to frame the portrait, which adds a grand, regal feel to the design.
- Technical Precision: Whether it is a couple's portrait, a Radha-Krishna depiction, or a specific wedding moment, I use reverse negative space filling to make the central figures pop.
Why Quality Matters
Portrait mehndi takes 3 to 4 hours of dedicated work. Because I focus on 100% natural, organic Sojat henna, there are no chemicals involved, even for the finest details. You get a dark maroon stain that lasts, which is crucial when you have complex figures like doli processions or intricate deity faces on your hands. If you have a specific scene or idea from your engagement or proposal, share the photo with me. We will plan the placement and size to ensure it fits perfectly within your overall bridal design.
