A sand portrait tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday. I use fine grains of sand to capture the details and character of inspiring personalities.
Titled 'Spread', this piece is part of my 'Sanddigi' collection. It starts as a physical sand painting and is then transformed into a dynamic digital artwork, exploring themes of struggle and release.
My tribute for Independence Day, 'Jai Hind'. This piece captures the collective spirit of our nation, with countless individuals moving forward under the tricolor, all depicted in sand.
Titled 'Sprout', this eco-art piece symbolizes new beginnings and the resilience of nature. It's a simple yet powerful representation of my commitment to creating sustainable art.
A moment of peace captured in sand. This portrait of Buddha was created for Buddha Purnima, using a blend of colors to evoke a sense of calm and spiritual tranquility.
A glimpse of my 'Sand Fusion' collection displayed at a gallery. Seeing my work framed and arranged like this shows how a series of smaller pieces can create a large, impactful statement wall.
It was an immense honor to create a live sand art performance detailing the life of Mr. Azim Premji and then present this sand portrait to him for his 80th birthday celebrations.
About Featured
Unlike paintings that use pigment, my physical sand art relies on bas-relief techniques and fixed, natural grains. When you commission a piece, you are getting more than a portrait; you are getting a texture that changes with the light in your room. I use industrial fixatives to ensure the grains remain stable and protected, making the artwork ready for permanent display in your home or office.
My creative process bridges the gap between traditional storytelling and modern visual art. I started with live performances—telling stories that appear and disappear on a lightbox—but my work has evolved to include permanent, framed installations.
Each sand painting is built on rigid boards or canvas. I use 100% natural, graded sand, creating depth through shading rather than colour alone. For my 'Sanddigi' series, I take these physical pieces and reinterpret them digitally, which allows for vibrant, large-scale prints.
If you are looking for a gift or office installation, we can start with a conversation. I handle everything from the initial layout approval for portraits to framing. I use premium matte black or dark wood frames, complete with UV-protective glass to ensure the artwork lasts. Based out of Yeswanthpur, Bengaluru, I ship my framed work across India. If you have a specific idea, whether it is a spiritual theme or a commemorative portrait, let's discuss how we can bring it to life in sand.
