About Sand & Digital Artwork
Why Sand Art Feels Like Home to Me
Sand is my way to connect with Vasudaiva Kutumbakam (the world as one family). Every grain is different, but when I create, they come together - just like us. My art lives at the crossroads of earth and imagination, sometimes on canvas, sometimes on a screen.
What You’ll Find in My Work
- Physical Sand Paintings: Not just decor. These are stories set in sand, framed and ready. I work with all sizes, big and small.
- Thematic Experiments: I mess around with texture and colour.
- Eco-art, inspired by nature and the ‘go green’ vibe. Think sprouting seeds, flying birds.
- Spiritual pieces for moments of devotion - Lord Shiva, Lord Ram, Buddha. Hara hara Mahadeva!
- Patriotic art for national events because, Mera bharat mahaan (India is great).
- Custom Portraits: I can turn memories or icons into sustainable sand painting. Public figures, family, you name it.
Sand Meets Tech: Digital Art & NFTs
Some works start as sand, then move into the digital world - my ‘Sanddigi’ style. I use tech to remix my sand pieces, making them pop as spiritual digital artworks or even limited-edition NFT collections.
Earth, spirit, tech, and a bit of Jai Hind! That’s my art.

My Story
Namaskara! I’m Raghavendra Hegde, sand artist from Bangalore. Sure, I’ve got a post-grad in visual art, but sand—aye, that’s my real adda (spot). It’s not just art, it’s green art, eco-art. All those tiny grains, coming together, like Vasudaiva Kutumbakam (One World, One Family). Done 800+ shows, even performed at G-20, and got the 'Indian Iconic Artist' award from Pooja Hegde—funny coincidence, right? Connecting to my roots at Prakruthi Habba keeps me grounded.
My Work
Live sand art for events - I perform live sand art, telling custom stories for any event—corporate, award nights, even summits.
Sand paintings and digital art for sale - I make sustainable sand paintings and digital pieces—abstract, portraits, all limited edition ecoart.
Art with a message - My art celebrates culture, country, and sustainability. More than sand, it’s about connecting people.
