Voices from the Circle: Stories of Growth and Self-Discovery

The true measure of my work lies not in degrees or awards, but in the shifts I witness in the people who join my circle. These are their stories of finding their voice.

Hearing directly from participants is the most meaningful part of my work. In this clip, a young student from my Unearth Program shares how the sessions helped her build confidence, learn the importance of feedback, and discover new ways of writing and relaxing.

A beautiful poem written by a 9th-grade student after my 'Aurora' writing retreat. Her words, "Self-awareness bloomed like a flower in spring," capture the essence of what I hope to cultivate in every session: a space for inner light to grow.

This moving poem was written by a 13-year-old student during a session on emotional literacy. It is a powerful reminder that children experience deep feelings and that writing can be a lifeline for expressing the chaos and pain they hold inside.

Feedback like this is the only award I am hungry for. A student from my workshop shares how she overcame her fear of writing and gained confidence, a breakthrough that is a testament to the supportive, non-judgmental environment we create together.

About Voices from the Circle: Participant Stories

When you step into my circle, you are not here to write perfect essays. We focus on the messiness of being human. Whether it is an adolescent finding the courage to pen their first poem or a professional rediscovering their inner child, the transformation happens when you stop trying to impress and start trying to express. This is not about grammar. It is about clearing the clutter in your mind so you can finally hear yourself think.

Why Your Voice Matters

In our sessions, writing is the bridge back to your authentic self. Many who come to me feel weighed down by the expectations of life, such as what they should be doing, how they should sound, and who they should be. In the safety of our small groups, those expectations fall away.

The Process: Writing for Healing

We do not chase perfection here. We practice emotional literacy. When a student captures their stress in a poem or a participant writes their way through a tough life transition, they are not just learning to write. They are learning to release. You will find that when you give language to your emotions, the chaos inside loses its power.

What Happens in a Session?

We use a mix of prompts, mindful listening, and open sharing. Some weeks we focus on poetry to unlock hidden feelings. Other times, we use micro-fiction or storytelling to explore different perspectives. Most importantly, we listen. We build a container where you can be vulnerable without fear of judgment.

My Role as Your Guide

I act as a sootradhar, which is the thread that connects the pearls. I do not stand at a podium giving lectures. Instead, I ask the questions that help you find your own answers. Whether you join me for a virtual writing course or a corporate workshop, my goal remains the same: to help you slow down, breathe, and trust the voice that has been waiting for you all along.

I am Manmeet, and I run Sailing Leaf. I am less of a teacher and more of a space holder for your thoughts to land safely. I believe that if we nurture our curiosity and embrace our messy, human side, the writing follows naturally.
