Creative Writing & Mindfulness Workshops for Youth
I create safe, digital spaces where adolescents and teens can disconnect from the noise to reconnect with their own thoughts, feelings, and creativity.
This video captures a young participant sharing his journey during a workshop. He speaks about moving past his initial skepticism of mindfulness and discovering the power of journaling and learning from his peers, a testament to the growth that happens in these sessions.
Confidence can bloom in a safe space. Here, a student from my 'Story of Emoticons' program shares how writing down her feelings helped her become more of an extrovert and boosted her confidence like a rocket.
In 'The Art of Slow Living' workshop, young adults from Maitri discovered the power of observation. This screenshot captures the moment they shared their insights on paying attention to daily routines and finding calmness through mindful writing.
This is a group of adolescent girls from the 'Rhythm & Rhyme' workshop, a session focused on transforming their relationship with their bodies through expressive writing. Their smiles reflect the safe, collaborative space we created to share deep thoughts and connect with our authentic selves.
During the 'Aurora' creative writing series, we used drawing to explore the idea of being "same yet different." The participants are proudly showing their unique interpretations, a beautiful visual of how original thought can flourish when we tune into nature and ourselves.
In an age of digital distraction, it was inspiring to see nine adolescents choose to switch off their phones and write their hearts out. This session on World Poetry Day was dedicated to cultivating mindfulness and creativity as tools against anxiety.
This is the 93rd batch of my Sailing Leaf program, a milestone that fills me with gratitude. In these online groups, we laugh, play, reflect, and write, coming closer to who we are and who we want to be, one session at a time.
This is a snapshot of a group of young adults from my Unearth Program, just as we were beginning to build trust and get to know one another. These initial moments of connection are the foundation for the creative and playful work that follows.
Even in the cold of January, this online family of young writers keeps me warm with their energy and creativity. This screenshot captures the fun and playful spirit we cultivate in our virtual workshops.
Learning should be fun and full of movement, even on Zoom. Here, a group of kids are in their "monkey zone," expressing themselves with joyful energy during one of our creative writing sessions.
About Online Workshops for Youth & Adolescents
I believe connection must come before content. In my 10-session online series, I strictly limit each batch to 6 students. This allows me to create a 'monkey zone'—a safe harbor where your child can drop their academic masks, giggle, play, and write from a place of raw honesty rather than for grades or performance.
My approach is simple: writing is a spade used to discover who you are. We live in an age of constant digital distraction, where teens often feel the pressure to perform and present a curated version of themselves. My sessions offer a pause button.
In our 15 hours of live contact time, we don't chase grammar perfection or vocabulary awards. Instead, we use proprietary writing prompts, visual aids, and 'Brain Games' to explore divergent thinking and mindfulness. We discuss emotions, navigate stress, and use poetry as a release for the anxieties of growing up.
Here is what the process looks like:
- Small Batches: Capped at 6 participants to ensure I can give personal, oral feedback to every child.
- The Methodology: We treat writing as an experiential journey. Whether it is micro-fiction or poetry, we focus on the imagery and the truth behind the words.
- Parent Integration: Growth is a shared journey, so I include a dedicated 60-minute session with parents to discuss progress and reflections.
I act as a 'sootradhar'—a thread-holder. I am not a teacher with a syllabus to finish. I am here to hold the space, ask questions, and spark curiosity so your child can find their own wisdom. By the end of the course, the goal is not to have a polished essay, but to have a child who feels lighter, seen, and more confident in their authentic voice.
Sailing Leaf
I'm Manmeet, and I don't believe in teaching writing as a school subject. I'm a 'sootradhar'—a thread-holder—who helps your child find their own voice through play, laughter, and honest storytelling. In my sessions, we value deep listening over speaking and connection over content.
