Featured moments of connection and creativity
Explore the joy of creative writing and self-discovery through these glimpses of my workshops with youth, seniors, and corporate teams.
In my sessions with seniors, we often find that joy has no age. Here, we are reconnecting with our inner child, holding hands in a circle of laughter and shared energy. It is a beautiful reminder that community and play are essential at every stage of life.
I believe in connecting with people before presenting content. This was a session on Intercultural Communication at Mohawk College, where I focused on building relationships and making each student feel seen and heard before we even opened the first slide.
Laughter is a powerful tool for connection, especially in an online setting. This is a moment from my 'Rhythm & Rhyme' workshop, where a group of women realized the freedom that comes from letting go of external expectations and embracing self-compassion.
Experiential learning is about doing, not just listening. During a Youth Trails program, I joined the participants for canoeing. Sharing my own fear of water helped create a space of vulnerability and partnership, showing that we all have fears to overcome together.
The stage is a space where I can act as the 'sootradhar', the thread-holder, weaving stories together to connect with the hearts of the audience. Here, I was hosting and narrating a theatrical show, a role that reminds me of the importance of every part in creating a beautiful whole.
Hearing directly from participants is the most meaningful part of my work. In this clip, a young student from my Unearth Program shares how the sessions helped her build confidence, learn the importance of feedback, and discover new ways of writing and relaxing.
During a mindful aging conference, I had the privilege of guiding a session for South Asian senior women. It was a powerful experience to witness them claim their space, share their stories, and feel energized by the sense of community and self-focus.
About Featured
I operate on a simple principle: connection before content. In these workshops, I am not here to correct your grammar or grade your writing. I am here to hold the space—to be the sootradhar—so you can safely explore your thoughts, navigate your feelings, and rediscover your creative voice without the pressure of performance.
My Approach to Group Spaces
I believe that creativity is not a skill you learn, but a part of yourself you rediscover. When you join a session, you are not signing up for a lecture or a rigid curriculum. You are joining a circle.
Whether it is an online session for teenagers navigating the stresses of school or an in-person gathering for seniors looking to reconnect with their inner child, my goal remains the same: to create a non-judgmental environment. We use writing as a tool for healing, clarity, and fun.
Why This Works
- Experiential Learning: We don't just talk about writing; we play, we share, and we monkey around. The learning happens through doing.
- Safe Containers: By capping my student batches at six, I ensure every voice is heard and everyone feels seen.
- Bridging Worlds: With experience spanning across Canada, the United States, and India, I help groups explore intercultural communication and empathy through storytelling.
I am not here as an authority figure with all the answers. I am the thread connecting the pearls. If you have been looking for a place to slow down, breathe, and put your thoughts on paper without the fear of judgment, this is where you start.

I am Manmeet, and I don't see myself as a teacher, but as a 'sootradhar'—a thread that connects. In my sessions, we don't chase perfection or grades; we chase the quiet joy of finding your own voice. Whether you are a teen navigating stress or an adult looking to reclaim your inner child, I create a space where you are seen, heard, and allowed to simply be.
