I create safe, interactive spaces where students and communities can slow down, share stories, and reconnect with their authentic selves.

I believe in connecting with people before presenting content. This was a session on Intercultural Communication at Mohawk College, where I focused on building relationships and making each student feel seen and heard before we even opened the first slide.

Experiential learning is about doing, not just listening. During a Youth Trails program, I joined the participants for canoeing. Sharing my own fear of water helped create a space of vulnerability and partnership, showing that we all have fears to overcome together.

This photo takes me back to one of my early workshops, where we sat on the floor in a circle, sharing stories. It was here I learned the power of listening and stepping down from the ladder of authority to be one with my students.

Speaking to a group about the power of embracing your whole self, including the quiet, introverted parts. I often share my own journey with being an introvert to help others feel seen and to challenge the idea that confidence is only measured by how loudly you speak.

A group photo from a creative writing class at the University of Toronto, with students from Egypt, Korea, India, and the Caribbean. The more we discussed our cultural differences, the more we discovered our shared humanity and the universal stories that connect us all.

This was the setup for a journaling workshop I led for students at Northeastern University. My goal was to show them that writing can be a daily tool for cleansing, nourishing, and creating themselves, long after the session ends.

Posing with a student organizer after a journaling workshop at Northeastern University. It is always a joy to collaborate with students who are passionate about bringing wellness and self-awareness tools to their peers.

About In-Person Engagements: Colleges & Communities

When I walk into a college campus or a community hall, I don't start with slides or rigid agendas. I start with names, stories, and the quiet spaces between us. Whether it is an intercultural communication session at Mohawk College or a journaling workshop at Northeastern University, my goal is to bridge the gap between people. We don't just talk about wellness. We practice deep listening and experiential exercises that help students and team members feel truly seen and heard.
