Creative Circles for Women and Seniors

I hold warm, nurturing spaces for women to connect and for seniors to rediscover their inner child. Whether online or in-person, these sessions are about joyful exploration, sharing stories, and building a supportive community where everyone feels seen and heard.

In my sessions with seniors, we often find that joy has no age. Here, we are reconnecting with our inner child, holding hands in a circle of laughter and shared energy. It is a beautiful reminder that community and play are essential at every stage of life.

Laughter is a powerful tool for connection, especially in an online setting. This is a moment from my 'Rhythm & Rhyme' workshop, where a group of women realized the freedom that comes from letting go of external expectations and embracing self-compassion.

During a mindful aging conference, I had the privilege of guiding a session for South Asian senior women. It was a powerful experience to witness them claim their space, share their stories, and feel energized by the sense of community and self-focus.

On International Women's Day, I joined a panel discussion organized by the young women of Maitri. It was inspiring to see their courage and thoughtful questions, and it reminded me that when we mentor others, we always receive just as much in return.

About Creating Circles for Women & Seniors

My circles are not about performance or perfection. In a typical session, we start by checking in, then move into guided prompts that help you slow down. We might be writing a poem, exploring a childhood memory, or just sharing what is weighing on our minds. You do not need to be a writer or have any specific talent to join. You just need a willingness to be yourself in a safe, non-judgmental space.

Why Join a Circle?

In a world that constantly demands we be productive, my circles are a place to just be. I focus on "connection before content." When women and seniors come together, we often find that the barriers we build for the outside world start to dissolve. We use writing as a tool for healing, not for publishing.

What We Explore Together

  • For Seniors: We focus on mindful aging. We look back at life experiences, not to analyze them, but to appreciate the stories they have created. It is about reclaiming your space, finding laughter, and remembering that you are more than your responsibilities.
  • For Women: We create a womb of safety and warmth. We talk about self-compassion, the benchmarks we were taught to meet, and how to let go of the need for approval. We often find that in sharing our stories, we realize our struggles are shared, and that realization is deeply liberating.

How It Works

I facilitate these sessions with a mix of deep listening and playful interaction. Think of me as a sootradhar—the thread that holds the pearls together. I provide the prompts and the structure, but the wisdom comes from the group.

  • Virtual Circles: We use Zoom to connect across time zones. These are capped at small numbers to ensure everyone gets a chance to speak.
  • In-Person Engagements: Whether it is a conference or a community hall, I travel to your venue to facilitate live workshops. We use ice-breakers and group reflection to create immediate, tangible connections.

There is no pressure to share anything you are not ready to voice. The goal is to feel lighter when you leave than when you arrived.

I am Manmeet. I don't show up as a teacher with a syllabus; I show up as a 'sootradhar'—a thread that connects the pearls. My workshops are built on the belief that everyone has a story worth hearing, and when we listen, we heal.
