About Outdoor Lounges & Entertainment Areas
When designing an outdoor lounge, the most overlooked detail is the drainage slope for your patio. Before we lay any stone or decking, we ensure the ground grading is precise so water drains away from your seating area rather than pooling during the monsoon. This simple step prevents long-term damage to your hardscaping and keeps your outdoor furniture clean and dry.
Creating a true outdoor living room is about more than just placing chairs on a balcony. It requires a balance between permanent structures—like gazebos or sunken pits—and the soft, living elements that make a space feel organic.
The Anatomy of an Outdoor Lounge
In our Delhi NCR projects, we prioritize durability without sacrificing aesthetics. For ground-level gardens, we often use rough-cut granite or sandstone that stands up to heavy foot traffic and changing weather. On terraces, we rely on weather-treated WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) decking. Unlike natural wood, it won't warp under the harsh Indian summer sun, yet it provides that warm, grounded feel underfoot.
Designing for Utility and Comfort
- Sunken Seating: This creates a defined conversation zone that feels intimate even in an open space. We integrate drainage channels directly into the RCC structure to ensure these pits remain functional year-round.
- Fire Pits: For winter entertaining, we build gas-piped fire pits that eliminate the mess of wood ash. We use heat-resistant stone cladding to match the rest of the patio.
- Lighting Zones: An outdoor space must function after dark. We move away from harsh overhead lights, instead using IP65-rated LED strips under benches and spike lights to highlight sculptural plants, creating a layered, moody atmosphere.
Our Process
We don't believe in 'cookie-cutter' layouts. Whether you are transforming a compact balcony in South Delhi or a sprawling farmhouse lawn in the outskirts, we start by mapping how you naturally move through the space. We look at sightlines from your living room window—if you see a well-placed feature tree or a stone water body, the space feels like a true extension of your home, not just an add-on.
