Behind the Scenes: How I Capture Your Journey
I believe the best shots do not happen when you say cheese. They happen when we are exploring, finding the light, and just being in the moment. Here is a look at what goes into making those frames.
Here I am on World Photography Day, out in a field with my camera setup. This is where I'm happiest, collaborating with other creators and finding the perfect shot in the middle of nature.
About this collection
I prefer the chaos of real movement over forced posing. Whether we are trekking through the Parvati Valley or walking the streets of Mumbai, my gear is intentionally mobile. This allows me to jump into the action and capture candid shots without setting up a heavy rig that breaks the immersion.
The way I see it, the best stories happen when you are not trying to control them. When you hire me, you are getting more than just a videographer; you are getting someone who actually enjoys the process of hunting for the right frame.
My approach is heavily influenced by documentary-style filmmaking:
- Stay Light: I use a Sony A7S3 combined with a compact gimbal setup. It lets me move fast, track movement, and get those smooth cinematic shots without needing a massive crew.
- Raw Aesthetics: Sometimes, the best footage comes from a quick phone grab. I mix high-end camera footage with high-quality mobile shots to keep the energy dynamic and authentic.
- The Edit: This is where the magic (and the headache) happens. I do all my own color grading in DaVinci Resolve, focusing on natural tones rather than over-processed filters. If I am working on a travel film, my goal is to make the viewers feel like they were there, not just watching a brochure.
I am always open to experimentation. If you have a weird or unique idea for a shoot, I am usually down to try it out. I have shot everything from high-altitude treks to fast-paced commercial promos, and I adapt my style to whatever the project needs. Let us talk about your vision and see how we can make it look good.
Rahul
I'm Rahul. I am the person you will find lurking with a camera, probably trying to get the light just right. I don't believe in over-scripting things, so if you are cool with a bit of spontaneity and want a film that actually feels like you, we will get along great.
