Coordinated Family Outfits for Weddings in Bengaluru
Coordinating outfits for the whole family doesn't mean wearing identical clothes. I design ensembles that complement each other, ensuring everyone looks harmonious and elegant while keeping their individual style intact.
A perfect "Happy Family" portrait. I designed all the outfits for this family in a coordinated cream and gold palette, ensuring they looked unified and elegant for the wedding.
The bride and groom with their parents. Notice how the parents' outfits in shades of cream and light pink subtly coordinate with the main couple's attire.
The groom's family dressed in matching cream-colored traditional wear, from kurtas to dhotis, all custom-made to create a harmonious look.
A beautiful example of coordinating outfits for the mother and aunt of the bride. Both are wearing custom-designed blouses with matching sarees, showing elegance from every angle.
Sister goals. The bride in her rose gold reception gown stands with her sister, who is wearing a custom pink gown with a colorful embroidered jacket that I also designed.
A group of lovely ladies ready for the sangeet. I designed a variety of custom lehengas and crop top sets in shades of blue and mauve for a glamorous, coordinated look.
The full wedding party. It was a pleasure to design custom outfits for all these beautiful women, creating a vibrant and cohesive look for the sangeet.
About this collection
When I design for a family, I focus on the color palette and fabric weight to create a cohesive story rather than just matching shades. Whether it is coordinating your sister's lehenga with your bridal gown or syncing the groom’s sherwani with the parents' traditional wear, I ensure the group looks polished in photos without anyone feeling like they are in a costume.
Why Coordinated Outfits Work
A coordinated family wardrobe turns group photos from chaotic to intentional. Instead of everyone picking their own colors, we select a central theme—like cream and gold, pastel florals, or deep royal hues—and build around it.
My Design Process for Groups
- Color Analysis: We start by matching the main couple's outfits. For the family, we use shades that sit alongside those primary colors, ensuring the group does not clash with the bride and groom.
- Fabric Choice: If the bride is in heavy velvet, I often suggest silk or georgette for the family to keep the focus on the main event while maintaining a high-end feel.
- Custom Adjustments: Every member has different comfort levels. I tailor everything from saree blouses and lehengas to sherwanis, ensuring the fit is perfect for every body type.
Practical Tips for Families
Plan early. Coordinating an entire group takes time for fabric sourcing, embroidery, and individual fittings. I recommend starting the conversation 4 to 6 weeks before the wedding. This gives us enough time for trials and any minor tweaks. My Sadashivnagar studio is the place where we can lay out all the fabrics, sketch the styles, and make sure everyone feels confident in what they are wearing.
