About Competitive Track & Field: Throwing Events
Most athletes think throwing is just about arm strength, but true distance comes from your legs and core. We don't just watch you throw; we use frame-by-frame video analysis to fix your release angle and footwork. If you are struggling to cross that distance threshold, it is usually a small technical leak in your transition, not a lack of effort. We identify that leak and fix it.
Precision Coaching for Throwing Events
Throwing events are a game of inches. Whether you are aiming for district-level gold or just trying to qualify for police recruitment, the physics of your throw is what matters. At Risers Academy, we treat every throw as a technical project.
Our Technical Focus:
- Shotput: We teach both the Glide and Rotational techniques. For beginners, we build the glide to establish a foundation, and for advanced athletes, we shift to rotational mechanics to maximize velocity.
- Javelin & Discus: We emphasize the approach run and the block. A powerful release is useless if you don't have a solid plant leg to transfer energy.
- Video Analysis: We don't guess. We record your attempts and review them with you, slowing down the footage to spot errors in your grip, shoulder rotation, and release point.
Where We Train: Our sessions run at the Sector 8 mud ground and the Ramsheth Thakur International Sports Complex. We use professional-grade throwing implements so you get used to the weight and feel of competition gear.
Common Throwing Myths:
- Myth: Big muscles mean long throws. Reality: Explosive hip mobility and core synchronization create distance, not just upper body bulk.
- Myth: You need a coach only for the release. Reality: The entire transition from the circle or approach line dictates your final output. We coach the whole sequence.
If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with intent, come to the field. Remember, aata nahi tar punha kadhi nahi (if not now, then never).
