Custom Clay Murals and 3D Relief Art
Bring your walls to life with handcrafted 3D relief art and custom clay murals. From traditional Jharokha nameplates to intricate wall panels, I create unique pieces that add texture and soul to your home.
See how a simple MDF base is transformed into a vibrant, handcrafted Jharokha nameplate. This video shows the process of clay modeling, painting, and hand-lettering that I teach in my mural art workshops to create personalized decor for your home.
This handmade Radha-Krishna mural is an example of the intricate 3D relief work I create and teach. It combines clay modeling, texture work, and antique finishing techniques to bring a spiritual and artistic touch to your space.
This video shows the process of creating a 3D relief painting of the Eiffel Tower. I use a cone to apply texture paste, building up layers to create the detailed structure of the tower and the surrounding trees.
The magic of relief art is in the details. Here, I am sketching a couple and their puppy onto the canvas before adding texture, and also using a cone to create the fine lines of the Eiffel Tower's framework.
A work-in-progress shot of the Paris-themed relief painting. You can see the different textures used for the trees, lampposts, and benches, which will later be brought to life with color.
The first step in a 3D relief painting is sketching the design and applying the initial layer of texture. This video shows the beginning stages of the Eiffel Tower piece, setting the foundation for the detailed work to come.
The final, satisfying step of applying varnish to a finished Pichwai painting. This not only protects the artwork but also makes the colors appear richer and more vibrant.

About Clay, Mural & 3D Relief Art
Building 3D relief art is all about patience and a steady hand. I use specialized cones to apply texture paste layer by layer, creating depth that a flat painting just cannot match. Whether I am working on a custom Jharokha nameplate or a Radha-Krishna mural, the focus is on those tiny details—the grill work, the leaf texture, and the final antique finish that brings the whole piece to life.
There is something truly satisfying about transforming a blank surface into something tangible. When I create a 3D relief piece, I am not just painting; I am sculpting onto the canvas. The process starts with a design sketch, followed by hours of patient piping with texture paste. It is a slow, methodical approach—the kind where you have to wait for each layer to dry before adding the next.
Why Choose Relief Art?
Unlike standard wall decor, relief art changes with the light. As the sun moves across your room, the shadows on the raised clay work shift, giving the artwork a dynamic feel. It is permanent, durable, and completely personalized. If you have a specific theme in mind—like the intricate architecture of a Rajasthani Jharokha for your entrance or a spiritual Radha-Krishna scene for your living room—I can translate that vision into a textured masterpiece.
Customization & Process
Every piece I create is one-of-a-kind. I work directly with you to understand the size, color palette, and elements that fit your space. Whether it is a small, personalized nameplate for your family of three or a large mural for a feature wall, the process is hands-on.
- Consultation: We discuss your wall size and the mood you want to set.
- Design: I sketch the initial draft for your approval.
- Creation: The texture work begins, followed by painting and sealing with a protective varnish.
If you want to try this yourself, I also conduct workshops at my Kadubeesanahalli studio where I teach these techniques. As I always say, "Channagi kaanista idiyalla ee thara madidre?" (Doesn't it look good if you do it this way?). I love guiding students to find that same joy in creating their own 3D relief art.
