I do not design showpieces; I craft sanctuaries. For these homes, my task was to translate the vibrant lives of artists into textures, light, and quiet corners where they can finally exhale.

In designing this home for Kangana Ranaut, we created a sanctuary that was true to her Himachali roots. The space is layered with rustic textures, a hand-aged color palette, and personal collections, creating a home that feels both timeless and deeply personal. It was a journey of translating her story into a physical space.

This corner of Kangana's home features bold geometric floor tiles and a collection of vintage posters, reflecting her eclectic and artistic spirit. The design was about creating a space that felt authentic to her, blending her heritage with a modern, urban sensibility.

The dining area in Kangana's home is a celebration of artistry and color. A custom light fixture made from a tree branch hangs above a rustic wooden table. The space is filled with personal touches, like the Frida Kahlo-inspired screen, making it a true reflection of its owner.

The bedroom was designed as a calm retreat, with a classic four-poster bed and whitewashed brick walls adding texture and warmth. It’s a space that feels both cozy and elegant, a quiet corner in a bustling city.

For Dia Mirza's home, we exposed a section of the original brick wall to create a feature for her extensive book collection. This blend of raw texture with refined, custom cabinetry is a hallmark of my design approach, creating a space that feels both smart and soulful.

Alia Bhatt wanted a home that felt simple, warm, and deeply personal. We used soft whites, exposed brick, and stained-glass doors to create a space that felt like a quiet embrace. This entryway sets the tone for a home that is comfortable and full of character.

Designing Aditi Rao Hydari’s home was about capturing her elegant and serene essence. This corner features a beautifully carved console against a subtle patterned wallpaper, creating a space that feels both luxurious and deeply personal. The artwork adds a layer of tradition and grace.

About Homes for Storytellers: Celebrity Residences

When I design homes for storytellers, the goal is never to build a set that looks good on camera. It is about identifying the one object, corner, or memory—like a specific collection of books or a family heirloom—that grounds them. We build the layout around that, using exposed brick, restored woodwork, or soft lime plasters to frame their real life rather than a staged existence.

For me, these projects are not about the status of the client but about the depth of their story. Whether it is Kangana’s Himachali roots or Dia’s love for art deco, my process begins with a quiet conversation. I do not hand over a catalog and ask clients to pick a page. Instead, I ask them what they miss from their past, what keeps them awake, and what they need to feel calm after a long day in the public eye.

The design language here is about restraint. We use raw materials—brick, reclaimed wood, matte lime plaster—to strip away the artificial sheen often associated with luxury. For Alia, this meant creating a tea bar that became the emotional heart of her space. For Aditi, it was about layering textures to ensure the home felt serene and soft.

Heritage restoration is often a core component here. I look for existing bones—high ceilings, large windows, or classic floor tiles—and I keep them. If they are gone, I source reclaimed materials to bring that history back. It is about creating a dialogue between the past and the present, where modern comfort exists quietly alongside vintage finds. When you look at these images, do not just see the decor. Look at the corners. See the way light falls on a bookshelf or how a chair is positioned to catch the breeze. These are the details that turn a structure into a sanctuary.

I approach these homes the same way I approach any space: by listening to the person living in it. We strip away the noise and the celebrity tag to find the quiet, simple things that make a house feel like an embrace.
