Strength & Conditioning for Combat Athletes
We build machines for the cage. Our S&C program is not about aesthetic muscles; it is about building the explosive power, endurance, and resilience you need to perform under pressure.
We build bulletproof athletes. Our strength and conditioning program for fighters focuses on functional movements like deadlifts to build a powerful base.
Post training plyometric work for our competition team. This kind of explosive training is key for developing the speed and power needed in a fight.
Sports specific strength training is crucial for any fighter. Here our members are working on their deadlifts, building the core and posterior chain strength essential for combat sports.
About Strength & Conditioning
You will not find us doing endless isolation curls here. Our strength work is entirely functional, designed specifically to support your grappling power and striking speed. If you are a grappler, we build your posterior chain so you can power through takedowns. If you are a striker, we focus on explosive plyometrics so your movement stays crisp through all three rounds.
We train for the cage, not the mirror. Most commercial gyms focus on isolation exercises that build mass but fail to translate into actual combat performance. At #TeamReignMMA, our strength and conditioning sessions in HBR Layout are different. We view the body as a single unit, training for the specific physical demands of combat sports.
Why it works
We use a constraints-led approach even in our strength work. Instead of boring, repetitive gym routines, we introduce variables that force your body to adapt, just like it does during a fight. We focus on movements that matter:
- Deadlifts & Compound Lifts: Building a powerful base for clinching, wrestling, and controlling opponents on the mat.
- Plyometrics: Developing the fast-twitch muscle fibers required for rapid striking combinations and closing distance.
- Endurance Cycles: Ensuring your gas tank doesn't run empty when the intensity spikes.
Our facility features a dedicated strength corner within the War Room. Whether you are a total beginner who has never touched a barbell or a competitive fighter prepping for a tournament, our programs are adjusted to meet you where you are. We ensure you get strong enough to execute your technique, but conditioned enough to survive the grind. If you are ready to stop guessing and start training with a purpose, come down for a session and feel the difference.
