I create these portraits using blood to honor the people who shape our Kannada culture. Every piece tells a story of respect and genuine admiration.

Another tribute to the Challenging Star, 'D Boss' Darshan. This blood art portrait captures his powerful presence. The process involves careful layering to bring out the details and likeness of the beloved actor.

This is the process of creating a blood art portrait for actor Vinay Gowda, known for his roles and his time in Bigg Boss Kannada. It was a pleasure to capture his likeness as a piece of fan art.

The completed blood art portrait of actor Vinay Gowda. I focused on capturing his distinct features and expression, creating a tribute that I hope honors his work in the Kannada film industry.

A detailed look at the creation of a blood art portrait for singer Hanumantha Lamani. I paid close attention to the hair and facial structure to create a realistic tribute to the beloved artist from Haveri.

Here I am with Hanumanthanna, presenting him with the framed blood art portrait I created. His happiness and appreciation for my work mean the world to me.

A finished blood art portrait of Kannada rapper Rahul Dito. I aimed to capture his cool 'gangsta' persona, complete with his signature cap and shades, as a tribute to his impact on the music scene.

This video shows the painting process for the Rahul Dito portrait. You can see how I use the brush to build up layers and create the fine details of his face and accessories.

A blood art piece dedicated to All OK, another prominent figure in the Kannada rap scene. His music is an inspiration, and this portrait, created with my blood, is my way of showing appreciation for his art.

This is a fan art piece for SMR Gaming, a personality who finds happiness in helping others. I created this blood art portrait to salute his selfless work and positive influence in the community.

A blood art tribute to actress Bhavya Gowda. This process video shows how I start with the eyes and carefully add details like the bindi, capturing her expressive and smiling face.

About Tributes to Kannada Icons

These portraits are my way of showing gratitude to the people who define our culture. I do not just draw them, I use my blood to create a piece that is as real and alive as the inspiration they provide to all of us.

When you see these works, know that the process is as serious as the intent. I collaborate with a medical professional to ensure that the blood collection is safe, sterile, and professional. Once collected in a purple-top EDTA vacutainer, I use this unique medium to layer the details, often spending four to six hours on a single A4 portrait.

Because I use real human blood, the appearance evolves. It starts as a bright red painting and gradually oxidizes into a permanent, rich sepia or rusty-brown tone over time. This makes the art not just a visual tribute, but a living, changing piece that ages along with the memories it represents.

Whether it is a tribute to a Sandalwood actor, a local musician, or a community figure, my goal remains the same: to capture the distinct expression and spirit that made them an icon in the first place. I frame every piece in a standard black synthetic frame with glass, ensuring it arrives ready to be displayed. If you have a specific icon or a personal hero you want to honor in this way, send me a photo, and let us create a tribute that lasts.

Namaste, I am Ravish, and I call myself the Karunadina Kalavida. I taught myself to paint, not in a school, but through the emotions I see in people every day. I use blood to create these portraits because, for me, it represents a permanent, living connection to the people I admire most.
