I turn your most meaningful photos into lasting blood art portraits. A deeply personal way to celebrate your love story and preserve memories.

This piece captures a beautiful moment between a couple, recreated as a blood art portrait. The process starts with a reference photo and ends with a timeless piece of art that symbolizes their love story.

This video shows the process of creating a portrait for a loved one. It begins with the client giving a blood sample, which I then use as my medium to paint a deeply personal and meaningful gift.

The finished portrait from the previous video. Seeing the artwork come together, knowing it represents true love and connection, is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

About Portraits of Love

I do not perform the blood draw myself. For every commission, we arrange a safe, professional blood collection using sterile medical equipment. You provide just 2-3ml, which I then carefully layer over hours to create a monochrome portrait that naturally oxidizes into a permanent, rich sepia tone.

Why Blood Art?

People ask me why I use blood as an art medium. It is the most authentic piece of yourself you can share with someone you love. Whether it is an anniversary surprise or a memorial for someone who is no longer with us, these portraits carry an emotional weight that standard ink cannot match.

The Process & Safety

  • Collection: Safety is my priority. A medical professional collects your sample in a sterile EDTA vacutainer to ensure hygiene and prevent premature clotting.
  • Technique: I work on 250 GSM heavy-weight artist paper, building up the density of the blood to capture facial depth and hair texture. This process takes 4-6 hours for A4 portraits and 8-10 hours for A3 pieces.
  • The Transformation: Your painting starts as a bright red image. Over the first few weeks, the blood naturally oxidizes, shifting gracefully into a permanent, timeless rusty-brown or sepia shade.

Portrait Options

  • Single Subject (A4): Ideal for personal tributes or gifts. Requires 2-3ml of donor blood.
  • Couple/Dual Subject (A3): Designed for couples or siblings. This requires 4-5ml of blood. You can choose to use a single donor or mix samples from two individuals to symbolize your connection.

What You Receive

Every order includes a black synthetic frame with a glass front and a professionally edited time-lapse video of the creation process. I use heavy-duty, multi-layer packaging to ensure your portrait reaches you safely anywhere in India.
