Spiritual & Devotional Portrait Paintings
Art is my sadhana, a humble offering on canvas. I create devotional portraits that bring sacred energy and presence into your home or temple space.
Performing a ritual at the holy Ganga. Connecting with my roots and traditions is essential for my spiritual well-being, and this energy flows directly into my art. These rituals remind me that gratitude is the highest dharma.
A painting that honors the timeless Guru-Shishya Parampara (master-disciple tradition). The Guru imparts not just music with the tanpura, but a legacy of devotion and discipline.
As Srila Prabhupada taught, painting can be a form of devotional service. This portrait of him is my offering, created with the belief that art made with love for God can lead to bhakti. Hare Krishna.
A painting depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji seeking blessings from his mother, Heeraben Modi. This piece captures a moment of profound respect and the eternal bond between a mother and son.
An Independence Day special painting. This artwork shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji in prayer, with the divine mother, Bharat Mata, watching over him, symbolizing the spiritual strength of our nation.
It was a great honor to create this painting for the Shri Mohan Jagdishwar Ashram in Haridwar. This portrait of a revered Swami is set against a serene natural backdrop, reflecting his peaceful spiritual presence.
Another painting for the Shri Mohan Jagdishwar Ashram, this one depicting two generations of Gurus. The artwork symbolizes the passing of spiritual wisdom and the continuity of their sacred lineage.
About this collection
True devotional art goes beyond physical likeness. I paint with focus on the bhav, or emotion, ensuring that the energy of the subject is present on the canvas. This is why I do not rush my work; every painting is a piece of my sadhana, requiring time, patience, and absolute focus to complete.
When I receive a request for a devotional portrait, I view it as a responsibility. Whether it is a painting of a revered Guru, a deity for your home temple, or a commemorative piece for an ashram, the process remains consistent. It is about creating a visual anchor for your faith.
My Approach to Sacred Art
- Traditional Techniques: For these commissions, I often work with oils for depth or Tanjore techniques with gold foil to bring out the traditional, divine essence of the subject.
- Capture the Aura: I do not just paint a face. I look for the peace, the blessing, and the wisdom in the subject's eyes. My work for the Shri Mohan Jagdishwar Ashram in Haridwar required me to study the subtle expressions of the Swamis to ensure the final piece felt truly alive.
- Ritual & Preparation: I only take on projects where I can dedicate my full focus. Like the work I did for the ashram, these pieces often take time because they are created in a space of meditation.
What You Can Expect
If you are looking for a sacred painting for your altar or a portrait of a spiritual leader you hold dear, I offer a collaborative process. We will discuss the background, the mood, and the specific emotions you want the portrait to evoke. These works are meant to be heirlooms, handled with the same reverence as the subject they depict.
