Festive and Thematic Photoshoots
I don't just document festivals; I create concepts around them. From the intense energy of Navratri to the rustic joy of Sankranti, I focus on capturing the emotions and traditions that make these days special.
A cinematic video from my 'NAVATAAR' Navratri series, featuring actress Meghana Raj. The dark, moody lighting and the symbolic flame capture the powerful essence of the festival.
A powerful photo from the 'BELAKU' concept, where Meghana Raj holds a torch, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, a core theme of Navratri.
A seated portrait of Meghana Raj from the Navratri shoot, the flame illuminating her thoughtful expression and traditional attire.
A candid moment from the Navratri shoot, capturing a serene expression as she holds the ceremonial torch.
A full-length shot showing the dramatic effect of the single light source in an otherwise dark setting, creating a powerful and artistic image.
A different angle of the seated portrait, emphasizing the rich textures of the silk saree and the traditional jewelry.
A striking image with a bokeh background, where the flame from the torch beautifully lights up the subject.
A full-length shot capturing the regal and divine essence of the 'Maa Kalaratri' concept for the Navratri festival.
A close-up shot focusing on the actress's determined expression, perfectly embodying the theme of strength and courage.
A joyful shot of a model in a sugarcane field, celebrating the harvest festival of Makar Sankranti. This is how I blend tradition with beautiful landscapes.
About Festive & Thematic Shoots
For thematic shoots, I work with a dedicated crew—including stylists and makeup artists—to build the full visual concept. You are not just getting a photographer; you are getting a partner who manages the lighting, props, and direction to make sure the final frame looks exactly how we planned it, ensuring the results are ashtu chennagi bandide (they have come out so well).
My approach to festive and thematic photography is to go beyond standard event documentation. When I plan a concept, whether it is for Navratri, Sankranti, or Ganesh Chaturthi, I look at lighting, costume textures, and the environment to tell a story rather than just record an event.
The Conceptual Process
Every thematic shoot starts with an idea. If we are shooting Navratri, I focus on the contrast between traditional attire and moody, dramatic lighting. If it is Sankranti, I shift to natural, warm outdoor light to capture the essence of the harvest. I use high-end equipment like mirrorless cameras and off-camera strobes to ensure the colors of your silk sarees and jewelry pop, while keeping the background clean and focused.
Why Collaborate?
These shoots are rarely solo efforts. I believe in teamwork, which is why I often collaborate with professional stylists, makeup artists, and designers. By coordinating these elements beforehand, we avoid last-minute stress and ensure the aesthetic is cohesive. Whether you are looking for a magazine-style portrait session or a creative reel, we set the vibe before we ever hit the shutter.
Locations and Flexibility
While I am based in Bengaluru and know the best spots for both indoor and outdoor thematic setups, I am fully flexible. I have shot in everything from traditional wedding halls and studios to open sugarcane fields. If you have a specific location in mind, we can scout it and adapt our gear to make it work.
