My Journey in Competitive Skating and Coaching
Skating is my life, from winning medals for India to coaching the next generation in Namma Bengaluru. Here is the real story behind the speed.
In my element, practicing form on the track. Every champion was once a beginner who refused to give up.
A moment with my mentor and a promising young skater. I believe in passing down knowledge and experience to the next generation.
As an international skater and coach, I was excited to welcome everyone to the 62nd National Championship in Namma Mysuru.
Inviting the nation's skaters to the 60th National Championship in Namma Bengaluru. It was a huge event held at India's first indoor track.
Sharing the joy of skating. Even off the competitive track, the love for the sport is always there.
With a friend and fellow athlete. The bonds you build in sports last a lifetime.
A casual moment at a skating event. The community and atmosphere at these competitions are a big part of what makes the sport special.
A look back at the earlier days of my career. The journey has been long, but every step has been worth it.

About Behind the Scenes & The Journey
I still get on the track with my students every single day because nothing beats the 'innondu round' mentality when you are training for Nationals. Every photo here is a reminder that skating requires grit—not just talent, but the stubborn refusal to give up when your legs are burning and your lungs are screaming for air.
My journey did not happen in a vacuum. It was built on the track at Chennammana Kere grounds and pushed forward by my mentor K Srikantha Rao, who is like a father to me. When you look at these images, you aren't just seeing a coach; you are seeing the support system that keeps me going. My wife Swathi, who is the boss coach at our academy, and our two kids are the reason I can do what I do.
We run Skaters World Skating Academy differently. We don't just teach you how to stand on skates. We use parachute resistance drills and slide boards because that is how we build power. Whether we are training in Rajarajeshwari Nagar or prepping for a selection trial, the goal is always the same: podium finish. I have coached my own daughter to gold, and I bring that same personal dedication to every student who walks through our doors. If you have the fire, we will help you build the speed.
Raghavendra Somayaji
I am Raghavendra, a 9-time national champion who lives for the track. My academy, Skater's World, is built on the same 'train like a machine' ethos that got me my international medals, and I am here to pass that fire on to you.
