About In the Spotlight: Our Journey & Recognition
Recognition for us isn't about headlines in the Deccan Chronicle or features in Vijaya Karnataka. It is about the invitations to perform at international festivals in Austria and Germany, where our stories of 'Popo' thatha resonated across borders. These moments validate that our handmade puppets and Bunraku-style shows have a universal language.
Our journey began with a simple desire to share stories through handmade puppets. Today, that mission has taken our work far beyond our home base in Bangalore.
Global Reach, Local Roots
While we love performing at neighborhood schools and community events in Bangalore, we have been fortunate to represent Indian puppetry on international stages. Participating in the 40th Internationale Puppentheatertage in Mistelbach, Austria, and performing for the Freunde Des Augsberger Puppenspiels in Germany allowed us to see how our Bunraku-style storytelling transcends language barriers.
Why Recognition Matters
Every media mention, whether in local papers or festival programs, helps us reach more audiences who might not be familiar with traditional puppet theatre. We do not just perform; we share experiences. Being featured in the Vijaya Karnataka helps us connect with local families who want to see 'Popo' or 'Some Some Story' live.
Our Commitment to Community
We are equally proud of our local recognition, especially when it stems from our work with organizations like the Snehadhara Foundation. Performing for children with special needs provides a different kind of reward. The energy in those rooms confirms why we started this.
