About Puppetry Workshops & Classes
Why I Love Puppetry
For me, puppetry is all about that spark—when someone connects with a puppet, laughs, or just gets lost in a story. Nothing beats the mix of noise, energy, and those unexpected moments when a puppet becomes someone’s friend. Our stories, especially the ones about 'Popo' thatha, hit home for many. I’m here to help make memories, not just teach skills.
What Happens in the Workshops
Hands-on is the only way I teach. You’ll get right into it:
- Make your own puppet from scratch with cardboard, socks, or whatever’s handy
- Try different forms, from sock buddies to marionettes
- Learn how to move your puppet, give it a voice, and spin a story
- End with a mini puppet show—yup, you’re the star
Who Shows Up?
Kids (our putanis!) come alive in these sessions, especially ages 6-12. But honestly, adults have just as much fun—making marionettes, goofing around, or just finding that creative spark again.
For Everyone, No Barriers
I care a lot about making this space open for all. I run inclusive puppetry sessions for children with special needs too, collaborating with groups like Snehadhara Foundation. For some, it’s just play; for others, it’s real arts-based therapy with puppets.
Where & How
Based in Bangalore, I run these workshops anywhere—schools, art galleries, community spots. Sometimes it’s a one-off, sometimes a week-long camp. Every event is different, but the energy’s always the same.
