I love transforming spaces for Haldi ceremonies, naming rituals, and traditional milestones. From vibrant marigold hangings to fresh floral backdrops, my focus is on bringing your traditions to life in a way that feels natural and light.

Beauty in simplicity. For this intimate home ceremony, we created a traditional backdrop using jasmine and marigold garlands, with a beautiful Ganesha motif made entirely of flowers as the centerpiece.

A walkthrough of a beautiful daytime ceremony with rustic and citrus-themed decor. We used wooden chairs, dried palm leaves, and fresh floral arrangements with pops of orange for a unique and sunny feel.

Simple, elegant centerpieces for a daytime event. I love using a mix of small glass vases and bottles with a few select blooms to add a touch of freshness to each table without being overwhelming.

About Daytime & Traditional Ceremonies

When I plan daytime ceremonies, lighting is just as important as the flowers. Since natural light shifts throughout the day, I ensure your backdrop is positioned to catch the best glow while keeping the floral arrangements fresh using seasonal blooms like Rajnigandha and Jasmine. If you have an heirloom, like a brass urli or family-owned lamps, I love incorporating those into the design to make the space feel grounded and truly yours.

For traditional events like a Haldi, Seemantham, or naming ceremony, the decor needs to balance vibrant colors with a clean, elegant aesthetic. I move away from the heavy, plastic-laden structures often seen in mass-market event decor. Instead, I focus on natural textures.

My Approach to Traditional Decor

My setups rely on real marigolds (Genda), tuberoses (Rajnigandha), and jasmine, sourced fresh on the morning of your event. I incorporate classic elements such as:

  • Traditional Brassware: Rental of heavy brass lamps (Kuthu Vilakku) and large Urlis for water and petal arrangements.
  • Natural Backdrops: Use of banana leaves, coconut patterns, or simple silk drapes that frame the space without overpowering it.
  • Floor Art: Pookalam-style rangolis made with fresh petals, which add color at eye level and ground the entire setup.

Making It Practical

Most of these setups are designed for home or semi-outdoor spaces in Bengaluru. I account for factors like venue size and existing lighting when planning the layout. If we are working in your backyard, I prioritize floral density and weather-appropriate structures. The goal is to create a space that feels celebratory and full of life, not stiff or overly formal. Whether you want a minimal Ganesha motif or a lush, wall-to-wall floral backdrop, I am there on-site with my team to ensure every garland and brass lamp is perfectly placed before your first guest arrives.
