For this baby shower, I created a beautiful backdrop using a combination of banana leaves and a frame of colorful flowers. The Ganesha made of yellow flowers adds a lovely traditional touch.

About this collection
I often use real banana leaves for backdrops and fresh marigold petal rangolis for the floor, which looks great in photos but needs a cool, shaded spot to stay fresh. If we are planning an outdoor ceremony in Bengaluru, I always suggest adding a simple canopy or overhead draping to keep the flowers lasting throughout the ritual.
Authentic Decor for Traditional Rituals
Whether you want a classic yellow-and-green Haldi theme or something more vibrant with pinks and oranges for your Mehendi, the focus remains on keeping it traditional. I rely heavily on fresh, high-quality marigolds, roses, and real banana leaves. These materials do not just look good; they bring the specific scent and look that traditional rituals in Bengaluru and Kundapura require.
Practical Setup Details
I set up heavy brass Urulis with floral borders, which are perfect for both photos and the actual application of turmeric. For Mehendi, I use floral arches and fairy lights to create a warm, intimate space. Since I work with fresh blooms, heat management is part of the planning process. I will always tell you if a specific outdoor spot is too exposed to the sun so we can adjust the layout or add shading before the event starts.
Common Questions
- Can we customize the color palette? Yes. I can match the drapes and floral arrangements to your specific outfit or the color scheme of your choice.
- Do you provide the props? Yes. My packages include the brass Uruli, seating, and decorative brass bowls needed for the Haldi or ritual offerings.
- How long does the setup take? For these specific setups, I usually arrive 3-4 hours before the event to ensure every flower is perfectly placed.
