A solo acoustic set works beautifully for an intimate ceremony or a quiet cocktail evening where you want background vibes, while a full band is essential if you want the room dancing during a Sangeet. Finding Your Sound
Every event has a different heartbeat. If you’re planning a cozy gathering at a venue like Chamaravajra, I can perform as a solo artist, bringing just my guitar and a songbook that spans Hindi, Kannada, English, and more. This format is perfect for when you want the music to be interactive and conversational, allowing guests to actually hear the stories behind the songs.
For larger celebrations, I bring in the Praveen Bhat Collective. We scale from a 3-piece acoustic trio for upbeat lounge vibes to a full 5-piece band for those moments where you need high-energy Bollywood, regional mass hits, and rock anthems to get everyone on the floor.
Practical Details
When you’re looking at your budget and venue, here is what you need to know about the technical side:
- Small Gatherings: If you're hosting up to 50 guests, I bring a basic portable PA system. You don’t need to worry about extra rental gear for these setups.
- Large Venues: For larger events with a full band, the client or venue typically needs to provide the professional sound and light setup, as well as the backline (drums, amps, etc.). I will provide a technical rider so you know exactly what is required.
Language and Vibe
My sets are flexible. If you want a specific mix—maybe a focus on Kannada classics, or a blend of Bollywood and Western hits—just let me know. I spend time before the event chatting with you to understand your tastes, so the setlist feels like it was put together for you and your guests, not just a generic playlist played for anyone.
