Fitness Challenges, Mobility Humor, and Real Life
Fitness is serious, but training shouldn't feel like a chore. Here is the lighter side of movement, from mobility challenges to my life outside the gym.
Here's a glimpse into a group workout I led. My goal is always to make fitness accessible to everyone, modifying exercises for different age groups and ability levels so that everyone can participate and have fun.
We'll work hard, but we'll also have a good laugh. Building a good relationship is part of the process, and sometimes that means catching you when you think I'm not looking.
A rare moment of stillness. While my focus is always on movement, it's important to have a clear mission. My "Mobility Matters" shirt says it all.
If I were an action figure, this is what you'd get. The package includes dumbbells, a basketball, and a bowl of ramen, which pretty much sums up my philosophy of balance.
Think you're mobile? Try this challenge. The goal is to get from standing to sitting on the floor and back up again without using your hands. It's a great test of your total body control and mobility.
Just a little trend-hopping fun. While everyone else is doing the "Prashant" trend, I'm just trying to enjoy my croissant in peace.
This is what recovery looks like after a tough rugby game. Mobility isn't just something you do in the gym; it's what allows you to keep playing the sports you love without getting injured.
Another angle of my post-game stretching. That flexibility is the result of years of consistent mobility work. It's essential for injury prevention and longevity in any sport.
Who says stretching has to be boring? Here are some of my favorite post-leg day stretches, complete with some very official, scientific names like the "Marilyn Manson Pose."
Here is a compilation of seven of my essential mobility drills. If you add these to your warm-ups or cool-downs, I guarantee your body will thank you for it.
About The Fun Stuff: Challenges & Personal Life
I believe that if you cannot have fun while you are training, you will not stick with it. Whether we are tackling a mobility challenge or laughing through a tough set of split squats, my approach is to keep things balanced. For every heavy session, there is a good meal and a bit of humor waiting on the other side.
You might see me posting skits about the trainer-client dynamic or messing around with mobility drills, but there is a method to the madness. My goal is to make functional fitness sustainable. If you treat training like a military operation, you will burn out. If you treat it like a long-term conversation with your body, you win.
Why the 'Fun Stuff' Matters
- Adherence: When you actually enjoy your sessions, you show up. It is that simple.
- Challenge as Assessment: Mobility challenges, like getting from standing to sitting without using hands, act as a real-world test of your joint health and balance. They show you exactly where your limitations are without the boredom of endless counting.
- Recovery & Balance: My life is a mix of high-intensity work and recovery. Whether I am recovering from a rugby match or finishing a half-marathon, I use the same methods I teach—ice baths, red light therapy, and simple stretching—to keep going.
Moving in Bengaluru
I work out of Troop HQ in Domlur and Pilates for Wellbeing on Lavelle Road. The focus remains the same across all locations: we train hard, we move well, and we do not take ourselves too seriously. Whether you are coming in for knee rehab or just to learn how to move without creaking, you will find an environment that prioritizes your consistency over ego.
We skip the 'no pain, no gain' nonsense. We focus on mobility training, strength and conditioning, and understanding your own body. If you are ready for a fitness routine that fits into your actual life—and includes the occasional dosa or burger—you are in the right place.
