Navigating the new criminal codes requires more than just reading the text. I conduct practical, classroom-style training sessions for government officials and law enforcement, focusing on real-world implementation of the BNS and BNSS.

Here are glimpses from a training program on the newly enacted criminal laws for officials from various central and state ministries. I addressed offenses under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, focusing on how these new laws are incorporated and implemented in our criminal justice system.

This was another session at the Parliament Library, training officials on the new criminal laws. It is always an enriching experience to deliver these lectures alongside respected legal luminaries and contribute to the awareness of new legislation.

I delivered a lecture during the Second Training Programme on "Newly Enacted Criminal Laws" for Government Officers at the Parliament Library. It is an honor to be part of this series, helping to disseminate knowledge about crucial legal changes.

In September, I taught a session on the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies. Teaching is a wonderful opportunity to learn, both through research and the insightful questions posed by the participants.

About Training for Government & Law Enforcement

Theory often fails when you are on the ground. Whether you are an investigation officer or a legislative drafter, you need to understand how the new Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) impacts your daily protocol. In my training sessions at the Parliament Library and ICPS, I focus on the practical 'how-to', from drafting FIRs under new codes to evidence admissibility, rather than just listing sections. If your department or ministry needs a deep dive into the transition from IPC to BNS, let us talk about a module that fits your operational needs.

Bridging the Gap Between Code and Courtroom

Law is dynamic, and the recent transition to the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) has created a significant learning curve for those enforcing the law. My workshops are not standard lectures. They are designed to address the operational reality of police officers, bureaucrats, and legislative drafters who need to apply these changes immediately.

Core Training Focus Areas

  • Transition Protocols: I break down the specific differences between the old IPC/CrPC framework and the new codes. We analyze renumbered sections and critical definition changes to ensure your team is not using outdated procedural knowledge.
  • Legislative Drafting & Competence: Drawing from my work at the Institute of Constitutional and Parliamentary Studies (ICPS), I train officials on the nuances of legislative drafting. We cover concepts like the Doctrine of Pith and Substance, repugnance in concurrent list laws, and avoiding ultra vires provisions to ensure robust legal drafting.
  • Evidence Protocols: The new codes mandate stricter audio-video recording standards and specific medical report timelines. My sessions cover the technical requirements for digital evidence storage, retrieval, and admissibility, ensuring that investigations hold up under judicial scrutiny.
  • Cross-Border & Cybercrime: With the rise of complex organized crime, we examine real-world scenarios, including cyber slavery and the extraterritorial application of Indian law, providing clarity on how to draft complaints that survive quashing attempts on technical grounds.

My goal is to simplify the complex so that you can work with confidence. Whether it is a full-day workshop on BNS implementation or a focused session on evidence protocols, the content is adapted to the specific challenges your team faces. Shukr (gratitude) for the opportunity to contribute to a more efficient criminal justice system.
