About Tiger Safaris: Encounters with the Apex
I keep my safari jeep occupancy strictly limited to four guests, which is the only way to get clear, unobstructed shots when a tiger crosses the path. It means you are not fighting for space or an angle when the action happens in Pilibhit or Ranthambore, allowing you to focus purely on your composition and shutter speed.
My goal isn't just to spot a tiger, but to help you document the moment with technical precision. Whether we are in the dense Sal forests of Corbett, the dry, rocky terrain of Ranthambore, or the grasslands of Pilibhit, I focus on helping you understand the animal's behavior before it happens.
The Safari Approach
I work exclusively with local drivers who understand the light and the terrain. We don't just chase other vehicles; we anticipate where the tiger is moving, how it might break through the grass, and how to position the jeep for the best exposure.
Why Mentorship Matters
Tracking is half the battle, but capturing the shot is where technique takes over. During these tours, we cover:
- Exposure Triangle: Adjusting on the fly as we move from bright sun to deep jungle shadows.
- Behavioral Anticipation: Learning to read alarm calls of langurs and deer so you are ready before the cat appears.
- Gear Management: Stabilization tips for heavy telephoto lenses while shooting from a moving vehicle.
Our Primary Locations
- Ranthambore: Perfect for regal portraits of tigers against historic ruins or dry deciduous landscapes.
- Corbett: Offers a mix of forest and riverbed sightings, which are ideal for environmental shots.
- Pilibhit: My go-to for raw, intimate tiger encounters in tall grasslands, often away from the massive tourist crowds.
Everything from your permit logistics to the evening image review sessions is handled, so you can spend your energy in the field. If you are serious about upgrading your wildlife portfolio, come join me in the wild.
