My Candid Approach to Pet Photography
Photography happened to me unexpectedly in my 40s, and I haven't looked back. Here is a look at why I prefer messy zoomies over perfect poses and how I turn a photoshoot into a memory.
A little video about my journey. Following the urge to switch careers in my 40s to become a pet photographer was the best decision I ever made.
Proof that my fitness hobbies directly translate to my photography skills! Being able to squat, crawl, and get low is essential for the perfect pet shot.
A quick note from me: Don't worry if your pet won't sit still! Capturing their true, energetic essence is my job, and often makes for the best photos.
A video explaining my philosophy: the shoot is an experience. The laughter, the chaos, and the feeling of the day are the memories you'll cherish.
A fun Q&A video giving you a peek behind the lens, from my post-shoot routine to my preference for dogs over men (of course!).
A video about gifting a photoshoot. It's a timeless present that captures moments and emotions that last a lifetime.
A behind-the-scenes video showing a client's joyful reaction to seeing their photos for the first time. This is the magic I work for.
A scrapbook-style image about my journey. I never planned to pick up a camera, but it opened up a world I didn't know I was looking for.
When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me mountain biking or at the gym. Photography, like life, is all about embracing the ride.
A collage of me in my element, capturing the unposed, real, and fleeting moments that bring the most joy.
About Behind the Lens: My Process & Passion
I’m not a fan of 'sit-and-stay' sessions. Whether I'm crawling on the ground to match your dog's eye level or using my high-speed strobe lights to catch that split-second treat-catching grin, my goal is to document the chaos that makes your pet, well, your pet. The shoot is really about the hour we spend laughing and playing, and the photos are just the beautiful evidence of that fun.
More Than Just Photos
I never planned to be a professional photographer. Life just tossed a camera my way in my 40s, and I rolled with it. Because I came to this later in life, I didn't learn the rules of stiff, posed photography, and I'm glad I didn't. I treat every session like a hangout, not a project.
Why High Energy is a Bonus
Many pet parents apologize for their dog's zoomies or their cat's tendency to hide. Don't worry about it. My background in fitness and mountain biking means I’m more than happy to squat, crawl, or run around to follow your pet's lead. I use Fuji cameras and Godox lighting to ensure that even when your pet is a blur of motion, the focus remains sharp on their personality.
What to Expect
- Zero Pressure: We move at your pet's pace. If they need a break, we take one.
- Real Expressions: I’m looking for the goofy tongue-out moments and the quiet, soulful stares, not perfect posture.
- The Experience: You’ll walk away with a gallery of images, but my hope is that you’ll primarily remember the laughter and the joy of the day we spent together.
Whether we're at your home, a local park in Bengaluru, or my studio, the process is the same: we get comfortable, we get moving, and we capture the story of your family as it is right now.
