A Year in Art: My Personal Sketches and Growth

every piece here is a snapshot of my 3h ki mehnat sessions. it is not just about the final image but the messy sketches, the failed shading attempts, and the late nights learning how to get skin pores and iris textures just right. this collection is a look at what happens when i stop overthinking and just let the pencil move.

this year was a wild ride. moving to a new city, living solo, and trying to balance a corporate job with my art meant learning on the fly. some days i nailed the shading on a hyper-realistic portrait, and other days the background just did not work out, that is just part of the process.

i spent most of my time focusing on hyper-realistic pencil portraits using faber-castell 9000 series pencils. getting those details in the eyes and hair strands takes patience, but it is worth it when the piece comes together. when i needed a change, i shifted to anime and pop-culture fan art. i started using ohuhu alcohol markers and prismacolor pencils to get those bold, smooth colors that really pop. it was a fun challenge moving from black-and-white graphite to vibrant marker work.
