When we plan a birthday or milestone shoot, I leave the rigid posing at home. Whether it is a first birthday or a golden 10th milestone, the goal is to capture the relationship you have with your pet.

I handle the logistics, like setting up the picnic spots or coordinating the props, but the pet is the one leading the session. We use the props, like cake stands or custom decor, to create a playground for them, not a studio cage. If your dog prefers to chase bubbles or play with their favorite toy over sitting near a cake, that is exactly what we document.

The 'What If' of Milestone Photography

I hear this all the time: 'But my dog won't sit still for a photo!'

That is actually perfect. Some of my favorite shots are the ones where the dog is mid-air reaching for a treat or shaking off after a fun outdoor session. Milestone moments are about documenting their personality at this specific stage of their life. If they are sleepy, we capture those gentle, quiet portraits. If they are wild, we lean into that energy.
