This video shows my complete process for restoring a treasured memory. I took a very old, faded photo of an ancestor and recreated him in full color on canvas, bringing his story back to life for his family.
A client from Canada had a unique request: to combine two separate childhood photos into one couple sketch. I carefully drew them together, creating a new, shared memory from two different moments in time.

How I Transform Your Photos
Turning a photograph into art is not just about copying what I see. It is about capturing the soul of the moment. My process begins with digital consultation, where we discuss the composition, especially if we are merging multiple people or restoring a heavily damaged photo.
Acrylic Canvas Paintings For color portraits, I use professional heavy-body acrylics on gallery-wrapped canvas. I start with a detailed pencil sketch base to ensure accuracy before building layers of color. Each painting is finished with a double coat of varnish to protect against moisture and UV light, ensuring it lasts for years.
Graphite Pencil Sketches If you prefer a classic, timeless feel, my graphite sketches on A4 acid-free paper are the way to go. I focus on contrast and emotion, using a range of H to 8B pencils to bring depth to faces. These are perfect for individual or couple portraits and are shipped in protective sleeves to prevent smudging.
Photo Restoration & Merging This is often the most emotional part of my work. I can take old, blurry, or damaged photographs and reconstruct them into vibrant paintings.
