The Creative Journey: From Canvas to Keepsake
Want to see how your photos become art? Here is a peek into my studio—from the first pencil sketch to the final varnish coat. Everything I make is built with layers of patience and a lot of heart.
This was my first big customized acrylic portrait, a 24" x 30" canvas. This video shares the story behind the painting, the late nights spent perfecting it, and the valuable lessons I learned as an artist.
Day 1 of working on a 20" x 20" couple portrait. The process begins with setting up the canvas, creating a detailed pencil sketch, and applying the first layers of background and base colors.
Day 2 of the couple portrait. Here, I'm adding more layers, refining the details on the clothing, and slowly building up the skin tones with black coffee by my side. Comment me zarur batana kaisa laga.
Here I am with the large 24" x 30" canvas, showing the scale of the portrait. It's always exciting to start on a big piece like this.
A collage showing the process of painting the mother's portrait. You can see the close-up details of me adding highlights to her eyes and the intricate patterns on her saree.
Part 1 of completing a new couple portrait. This video shows me mixing the skin tones with a palette knife and adding the first brushstrokes to define the hair and clothing.

A 24" x 24" group portrait in its early stages. I've started painting the central figure while the others are still outlined in pencil on the orange background.
About The Creative Process: From Canvas to Keepsake
You have seen the final paintings, but the real magic happens in the layers. Whether it is a graphite sketch or a large acrylic canvas, every piece starts with a rough pencil foundation to capture the likeness accurately before I even touch a brush. If you are planning a commission, remember that I need a clear reference photo to start this process; the better your photo quality, the more life I can bring into your portrait.
How Your Portrait Comes to Life
Art is my therapy, and honestly, every stroke is a prayer. When you order a portrait, it is not just me painting; it is us collaborating to save a memory.
- The Foundation: Every painting begins with a pencil sketch on the canvas. This is crucial for getting the proportions right. I do not rush this; if the sketch isn't perfect, the painting won't be either.
- Acrylic Layering: For acrylic portraits, I build up colors in stages—first the base tones, then the shadows, and finally those tiny highlights that make eyes look real. It is a slow process, often done with a cup of coffee and a lot of focus.
- Restoration & Merging: Have an old black-and-white family photo? I can restore it or merge faces from separate pictures into one frame. This is a special process, and I treat these with extra care, ensuring the final canvas feels cohesive.
Practical Details for You
- Pricing: Graphite sketches (A4) start from ₹1800, while medium acrylic portraits (up to 20x20 inches) range between ₹4500 and ₹7500. For large, complex, or multi-figure compositions, we look at ₹8500 and above.
- Timeline: Since these are hand-painted, patience is key. If you have a specific deadline, tell me early. I ship securely from Uttar Pradesh to anywhere in India.
- Quality: I use gallery-wrapped canvas and professional-grade paints, finished with a UV-protective varnish so your keepsake lasts for years.
