The Art of Creation: Behind the Scenes
Step into my messy, happy workspace in Bangalore. Here is how I turn eco-resin and soy wax into the little treasures you see in my shop, one pour at a time.
Welcome to my Garden of Eden! A quick look at the many floral molds I use to create my hand-poured soy wax flower candles.
Part 1 of my sculpture-making process. Here, I'm pouring the eco-resin and preparing the molds for my Roman-inspired pieces.
Part 2 of the sculpture-making process! Watch the satisfying unmolding of the Colosseum and Pantheon sculptures, revealing all their intricate details.
About The Art of Creation: Behind the Scenes
Making these pieces involves a fair bit of patience. When I pour the eco-resin into my molds, I have to spend time carefully popping every tiny air bubble to get that smooth, stone-like finish you see on my trays. It is a slow, quiet process, but watching the final shape reveal itself when I peel back the silicone is always the highlight of my day.
What Happens in the Studio
Every item you see in my shop starts as a liquid in a cup. Whether it is a batch of sculptural soy wax candles or a set of Roman-inspired eco-resin jars, the process remains the same. I mix, pour, sand, and finish everything by hand in my small Bangalore studio.
The Eco-Resin Process
I prefer working with eco-resin because of the stone-like, matte finish it offers once cured. The process involves precise mixing to ensure the strength of the piece, followed by hand-sanding to smooth out any edges. The signature gold rims you see on my trinket trays are painted on after the resin has set, which gives each piece a slightly different personality. If you notice a tiny variation in a tray or a small bubble mark, that is just the evidence that a person, not a machine, made it.
Working with Soy Wax
My candle-making is all about temperature control and timing. Soy wax is sensitive to the environment, so I pour my floral urlis and sculptural teddy bear candles in small batches to ensure a clean, soot-free burn. Creating these requires keeping the workspace humidity-controlled, which is a bit of a challenge in our climate, but essential for the perfect finish.
Why Custom Matters
Because I control every step, I can easily tweak colours or designs for your specific event. If you need a specific aesthetic for a wedding or a baby shower, just let me know. I love taking on custom orders that allow me to experiment with new shapes and palettes. What you see in my gallery is just the start; I am always happy to discuss how we can create something unique for your space.
