Behind the Scenes: Hand-Poured Soy Candles
Peek into my studio where wax meets therapy. Watch how every quirkily shaped candle gets hand-poured, cured, and packed with love.
About My Process: Hand-Poured with Heart
Demoulding is the real nail-biter for me. When I am pulling a delicate shape, I am literally holding my breath hoping it doesn't break. Every curve you see in my sculptures comes from these small-batch pours, where I spend time getting the temperature just right so the fragrance throw stays consistent before it even reaches your home.
I started Luxe Candles to manage my own anxiety, and this process is how I stay grounded. Every single candle you see is hand-poured by me in small batches using 100% natural soy wax. I completely avoid paraffin, so you get a clean burn without those nasty toxins.
The Process
It begins with picking the right vessel—whether it is a concrete pot, a crystal jar, or a traditional metal Urli. Once the wax is melted and the fragrance oil is blended at the perfect temperature, the pour happens. This is where I have to be patient. I let the candles cure naturally, which is crucial for the scent to actually fill a room. If you rush it, you lose the quality.
Why Hand-Pouring Matters
When you buy mass-produced candles, you miss the imperfections that make a piece real. For me, that might be a tiny air bubble or the way the wax settles in a ribbed pillar. Those aren't mistakes; they are proof that a person actually made this, not a machine. My favorite part is adding the finishing touches—whether it is hand-painting details on a teddy bear candle or arranging dried petals on an Urli. It is messy, it is time-consuming, and it is honestly the best part of my day. If you want a custom scent or a specific colour, just let me know. We can play around with samples until it is perfect for your space.
