Custom Home Exterior Designs
Site-responsive architectural designs that adapt to complex terrain, corner plots, and specific solar orientation for a timeless, functional residence.
The exterior of 'Nachiar Illam', a 2,240 sq. ft. residence in Bangalore. The design makes strategic use of a corner plot, with distinct modular elements and a color palette that highlights its geometric form.
Another perspective of 'Nachiar Illam', showing the interplay of volumes and the stone boundary wall. The design responds to the site's slope while presenting a strong, contemporary architectural statement.

About Custom Home Exteriors
For us, a residential exterior is dictated by the site topography and orientation rather than generic stylistic trends. Instead of masking uneven land, we utilize split-level planning to accommodate slopes and corner constraints, ensuring that elements like perforated metal screens serve a functional purpose—managing privacy and filtered light—rather than being purely decorative.
Our Approach to Residential Architecture
Designing a home starts with understanding the specific constraints of your plot. Whether it is a steep incline, a narrow city frontage, or a challenging corner site, our methodology involves a rigorous topographic analysis before any design lines are drawn. We do not apply a standard template; we build the structure to fit the land.
Projects and Site Responsiveness
Take our project, 'Nachiar Illam', for example. By employing split-level planning, we enabled dual-level access, allowing both pedestrian entry and vehicle parking to function independently on different planes. This creates a dynamic, multi-faceted facade that responds to the site’s natural slope.
For upcoming projects like the 'Tiwari Residence', we integrate Vaastu principles into a contemporary framework. Here, the architectural expression uses a material palette of glass, wood, and perforated metal. The screens on the facade are deliberate design choices; they provide the necessary privacy for an urban residence while allowing the interior verandahs to be illuminated by soft, diffused daylight.
Design and Documentation
Our architectural consultancy covers the entire lifecycle of the building:
- Site Analysis: Topographic study and sunlight optimization.
- Technical Documentation: Comprehensive GFC (Good for Construction) sets, including floor plans, section details for split-levels, and door/window schedules.
- MEP Coordination: Integrating electrical, plumbing, and HVAC layouts at the design phase to avoid site-level conflicts.
- Execution Support: We provide material selection assistance and periodic site supervision to ensure the build remains true to the architectural intent.
Our focus remains on creating spaces that are durable and climate-responsive, moving away from decorative excess in favor of clean lines and material integrity.
