Women's Self-Defense & Safety Workshops
Practical safety training for women using traditional Okinawan Karate techniques to build confidence and real-world situational awareness.
This video highlights the core of my women's safety workshops: dynamic, hands-on training that builds both physical skill and mental assertiveness. The goal is to empower every woman to feel secure and self-reliant.
Training female police officers is a responsibility I take very seriously. The techniques taught are adapted for high-stress situations, demonstrating the effectiveness and reliability of my curriculum for all women.
Participants from our International Women's Day workshop at the dojo. It is always inspiring to see a community of women coming together to learn, grow stronger, and support one another.
About Women's Safety & Empowerment
We conduct all training drills in everyday clothing, such as jeans or salwar, to ensure you are prepared for real-world scenarios rather than a controlled dojo environment. You will practice specific release methods from wrist grabs, hair pulls, and chokeholds, focusing on physics and leverage to break free from opponents regardless of physical size.
Rooted in Tradition, Designed for Reality
My approach to self-defense is built upon the authentic Shorin-ryu Karate I studied in Okinawa. I do not teach cinematic moves that look good on screen but fail on the street. Instead, we focus on simple strikes, blocks, and release methods that anyone can execute.
Workshops for Every Environment
Whether you are a corporate team looking to build team safety awareness, a college campus organizing a seminar, or an individual wanting to join a batch at my Honbu Dojo in Panduranga Nagar, the syllabus remains consistent and practical.
- Situational Awareness: We simulate everyday risks like parking lot safety or elevator encounters to help you identify threats before they escalate.
- Hands-on Training: You will work with focus pads and shields to understand the impact of your strikes and blocks.
- Certification: Every attendee receives a certificate upon completion, validating their commitment to personal safety.
The Importance of Mindset
Physical training is only half the battle. If your mind is not prepared, your body will not react under pressure. During our sessions, I include time to discuss the legal rights regarding self-defense and the mental strategies required to trust your instincts. You will learn to stand your ground and use your voice as a tool for safety. Training requires effort and commitment. As we say in the dojo, Mada tarinu (it is still not enough). We keep training, learning, and growing together.
