Our Learning Spaces: A Home Away From Home
We believe a child's environment is their third teacher. Discover our thoughtfully designed learning zones where curiosity moves freely, from the makerspace to the cozy reading nook.
If you are new here, this is Openhouse. We are a one-stop shop for modern, thoughtful parents, offering everything from preschool and daycare to playdates and extracurriculars.
We are not your typical preschool. I want to quickly show you what makes our approach to early learning so different and why children love spending their days with us.
Welcome to the Makerspace, a vibrant hub where children can invent, tinker, and create. It's a place where ideas become tangible and persistence is cultivated through hands-on projects.
In our Makerspace, children have the freedom to explore independently. Here, a child is engrossed in creating her own world with a city-themed play mat and wooden toys.
Collaboration and guidance are key in our Makerspace. An educator helps a child with a string art project on our pegboard wall, encouraging creativity and fine motor skills.
The joy of collaborative building in our Makerspace. Children learn to work together, share ideas, and problem-solve as they construct towers with colorful blocks.
A close-up of a complex Lego creation in our Makerspace. This kind of block play is fantastic for developing spatial reasoning, fine motor skills, and patience.
A teacher and children gathered in one of our bright, sunlit classrooms. We believe in creating a warm, interactive environment where every child feels seen and heard.
Two of our students decided to create their own cozy reading room. This is what we love to see: children taking ownership of their space and finding joy in quiet moments with a good book.
The captain of the ball pit, ready for adventure. Our play areas are designed for safe, energetic fun and endless sensory exploration.
About Our Spaces: A Home Away From Home
Our spaces are deliberately designed to remove the stiff classroom feel. You won’t see rows of desks here; instead, you will find sensory-rich zones like our Makerspace and Atelier where children choose their focus, building fine motor skills and spatial awareness while they tinker, build, and explore at their own pace.
When we built our centers in Bangalore and Kolkata, the goal was simple: stop creating classrooms, start building spaces. We know that children do not learn by sitting still, so we replaced traditional rows of desks with a rotation of distinct learning zones.
In our Makerspace, we introduce real tools—child-safe hammers, screwdrivers, and varied construction materials—that turn abstract concepts into tangible projects. This is where problem-solving happens. We watch children grapple with a wobbly tower or a piece of wood that won't fit, and we see the persistence they develop by fixing the issue themselves.
Then there is the Atelier. It is not just an art room; it is a sensory studio designed for tie-dye, painting, and tactile work. By giving kids access to diverse materials, we see their cognitive development shift from passive observation to active manipulation.
We also prioritize the 'Third Teacher'—the environment itself. Our cozy library corners are designed for quiet reflection, while our movement studios with ball pits and climbing structures allow for gross motor development. We believe in transparency too; parents are welcome to visit our parent lounge or check real-time app updates to see how their child spent the day. Whether it is a quiet moment with a book or a loud, collaborative building session in the Makerspace, our spaces are designed to support every mood and every discovery.
