About Themed Events & Workshops
Why We Do What We Do
At Openhouse, I see learning as something that happens when kids get messy, laugh loud, and try new things with their own hands. Sitting still isn’t our style. We set up provocations - those little sparks that get kids curious and excited to explore.
What Happens at Our Events
Every event is different, but here’s what you’ll find:
- Festival-themed kids events like Diwali lantern making, Christmas cookie decorating, and Onam pookkalam (floral rangoli) crafts. We even sing Kannada songs during Rajyotsava - it’s all about celebrating together, not just watching from the sidelines.
- Storybook adventure workshops where we bring tales to life, go on bear hunts, or dig for dino fossils. Our farm playdates? Muddy, noisy, and full of pretend cows and real veggies.
- Summer camps that feel like a trip around the world, with activities for toddlers up to 8-year-olds. One week it’s Ancient Egypt, next week it’s a journey from Kashmir to China.
Not Just for Kids
Family bonding activities are a big deal for us. Parents, grandparents, everyone’s welcome. We’ve had days where grandparents teach old-school games, and plenty of chances for you to join in the fun with your child.
What Kids Really Learn
It’s not just play. Kids build strong hands with crafts and clay, get better at moving with dance and games, and learn about science and culture through hands-on fun. They also pick up social skills, teamwork, and make new friends.

My Story
Hey, we’re Openhouse. We wanted a place where learning feels like home - not just four walls. Here, kids get messy, make chapatis, watch dosas sizzle, and figure out wind turbines with their own hands. We’re all about play, care, culture (yep, we sing ‘Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa’ and dance around for every festival). Parents, you’re in the mix too. For us, it’s about growing up together - not just the kids, but all of us.
My Work
What We Offer - Preschool, daycare, parent-toddler club, afterschool playdates, hands-on extracurriculars like robotics, art, chess, and early childhood teacher training.
Learning is Play - Kids learn by doing, not just listening. Think bread pizza making, ghost experiments, pretend play - all part of our hands-on preschool activities.
Our Space - No boring classrooms here. We’ve got ball pits, art studios, sand pits - spaces to explore and move, not just sit.
Life Skills, Not Just ABCs - We focus on building social skills, confidence, practical life skills - all while having fun, in a playful learning center.
