Preschool Field Trips and Hands-on Exploration
Learning isn't confined to four walls. We take our little explorers into the community to connect what they learn with the real world.
We had an incredible day at the Ashoknagar Fire Station. As part of our "Neighborhood" theme, the kids met real firefighters, explored the trucks, and learned about fire safety.
Our preschoolers dove into a world beneath the waves at the Namma Bengaluru Aquarium. This field trip for our "Animals" theme sparked so much curiosity and wonder.
As part of our "Me, My Family & My Home" theme, our little explorers visited a Homelane store. They learned what makes a house a home by exploring furniture, colors, and cozy corners.
Our field trip to Brikoven was a feast for the senses. The children got to see how pizzas are made, from kneading the dough to watching them bake in a real brick oven.
Our HSR preschoolers stepped out for a neighborhood park adventure. Sometimes the best classroom is the great outdoors, filled with running, laughter, and discovering the world together.
We partnered with a local bookstore and cafe for a day of tiny bookworms and tasty treats. It was a wonderful way to foster a love for reading in a new environment.
About this collection
Our field trips are never just casual outings. Every visit, from observing pizza dough rise at a local bakery to meeting firefighters at the Ashoknagar station, aligns with our monthly inquiry-based curriculum. We aim to transform abstract concepts, like public safety or food production, into sensory experiences that children can actually touch, see, and understand.
At Openhouse, we believe that the most powerful classroom is the one outside our doors. When we study a theme like 'The Food We Eat,' we do not just look at books; we take the children to a brick oven pizzeria like Brikoven to knead dough and see the heat in action. When we explore 'Our Neighborhood,' we head to the local fire station to meet the people who keep us safe.
This approach helps children bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-life reality. By moving from the controlled environment of our learning zones to public spaces like the Namma Bengaluru Aquarium or neighborhood parks, we help children build social confidence and observational skills. It is not about a checklist of destinations; it is about curiosity-driven learning. Whether we are hosting a book reading at a local cafe or exploring furniture at a home store, every adventure is designed to spark questions, encourage movement, and build the fine motor and cognitive skills essential for early development.
Openhouse
We are Openhouse, a community for families who want learning to feel like home. We believe children grow best when they get messy, ask big questions, and explore their neighborhood with curious eyes.
