Indian Fusion Belly Dance Classes
We blend the intricate techniques of Oriental belly dance with the graceful lines of Kathak and the energy of Bollywood. This is a space for dancers who want to use their bodies to tell stories, not just follow routines.

About Our Fusion Styles: Blending Worlds
When we explore fusion, we are essentially translating two different dance languages. The 'Nrityakosh Format' focuses on breaking down the anatomy of Oriental isolations and carefully layering them with the fluid aesthetics of Kathak or the sharp, rhythmic beats of Bollywood. You will find that our sessions challenge you to transition between these contrasting styles, requiring both core stability and a deep understanding of your own body alignment.
Fusion at Nrityakosh is an act of artistic exploration. Oriental dance relies on intricate hip isolations and controlled movements, while Indian forms like Kathak bring a distinct focus on rhythmic footwork and graceful arm flourishes. When we blend these, we create a new movement vocabulary that keeps your practice from becoming repetitive.
In our weekend intensives and regular classes, we spend time unpacking this fusion process. You might start a session with a Qawali track, focusing on the slow, emotive technique required for Sufi-inspired movements, and transition into a high-energy Bolly Funk routine the next day. We emphasize the 'why' behind the movement. We do not just show you a step; we explain how the pelvic alignment of belly dance supports the spins and gestures of contemporary styles.
Our classes are designed for everyone, from absolute beginners to advanced dancers. Whether you attend our sessions in Bangalore studios—including HSR Layout, Koramangala, and Indiranagar—or join us online via Zoom, you receive the same structured approach. We prioritize your understanding of music, rhythm, and personal expression. This is for the dancer who wants to see how their body can communicate complex emotions through the marriage of Eastern and Middle Eastern arts. Come join our community and see how you can develop your own voice in movement.
Nrityakosh
We see dance as a language, not just a workout. At Nrityakosh, we don't just teach steps; we invite you to explore the conversation between cultures and find your own voice in the movement. Whether you are stepping into a studio for the first time or looking to refine your existing practice, we are here to support your growth.
