Performance as a Language

At Nrityakosh, we see the stage as an extension of the studio. When we teach, we focus on embodied storytelling—using our bodies to express emotion and 'bhava'. Naturally, this leads to a desire to share that movement with an audience. Our performance culture is built on inclusivity, ensuring that every student, regardless of their level, has the opportunity to experience the magic of a live show.

Our Performance Formats

• Haflas: These are our quarterly community gatherings. Think of them as informal, supportive showcases where students from our various Bangalore batches—from HSR Layout to Indiranagar—come together. It is where you get your first taste of stage lights, costumes, and the rush of performing for your peers.
• Annual Productions: Every year, we push our creative boundaries with large-scale shows like Raqs-e-Mehfil or Sahara Nights. These events feature the Nrityakosh Company alongside our dedicated intermediate and advanced students. We take our storytelling seriously, creating full-length shows that explore themes ranging from Middle Eastern history to the lives of historical figures.

Why We Perform

We do not hold shows just to show off steps. We perform to build confidence, to experience the 'tribe' vibe that our school is known for, and to see our studio training come to life.
