Featured Yoga Workshops and Immersive Retreats
I don't believe in the perfect pose. My practice is about self-enquiry, whether we're in a Mumbai studio or the Himalayas. Explore my approach to alignment, breath, and stillness.
A glimpse into the magic of my yoga retreats. We move, breathe, and find stillness together in the heart of the Himalayas, letting the rhythm of the land guide us back to ourselves.
My workshops often use props like chairs and blocks, inspired by Iyengar yoga. Here, you can see how we use them to safely explore inversions and find deeper alignment in our practice.
This is Yoga Kurunta, or "rope play." Using wall ropes completely changes the experience of asanas, allowing us to explore alignment and surpass limitations with support and awareness.
A look into my personal practice, moving from Bakasana (Crow Pose) into a Sirsasana (Headstand) variation. The journey is about the small transitions and discoveries, not just the final pose.
Breath, or prana, is the anchor of our practice. It is the doorway to the present moment. Here, I am practicing Nadi Shodhana, a pranayama technique to calm the mind and nervous system.
I believe in making yoga accessible. This is a short tutorial on simplifying Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold) using props to create length in the spine instead of forcing the pose.
An invitation to one of my favorite experiences: a Yoga & Surf Retreat. These trips combine the grounding practice of yoga with the exhilarating feeling of riding the ocean waves.
The power of community. A moment from my Ladakh retreat, with everyone moving together in Virabhadrasana II (Warrior II), held by the energy of the group and the mountains.
About Featured
Whether we are working with wall ropes in a Mumbai studio or exploring inversions, my focus is always on the 'why' behind the pose. I don't use props as a shortcut; they are teachers that help you find alignment, protect your joints, and build strength safely. You will notice in my classes that we prioritize the rhythm of your breath over the depth of a stretch, ensuring the practice truly serves your body rather than straining it.
My Approach to Yoga
I believe yoga is a journey from movement to stillness. My sessions are designed to move you from the gross to the subtle, using breath as our bridge. You won't find competitive postures here. Instead, you will find a safe space to explore your range of motion and understand your nervous system.
Prop-Assisted Alignment
Inspired by Iyengar methods, I rely heavily on props to make asanas accessible.
- Wall Ropes (Yoga Kurunta): These allow for spinal traction and deep alignment work that feels impossible on the mat alone.
- Chairs & Blocks: We use these tools to deconstruct challenging poses like inversions (Sirsasana) and arm balances (Bakasana), teaching you how to fall safely and build foundational strength.
Immersive Retreats
Beyond the studio, I host retreats in places like Ladakh and Lombok. These aren't just vacations; they are containers for self-enquiry. We combine movement, breathwork, and the quiet wisdom of nature. Whether it is meditating in an apple orchard or practicing yoga by the ocean, the goal is to disconnect from the noise and return to your natural state of ease.
Is This For You?
If you are looking for a 'quick fix' or extreme flexibility goals, my classes might feel slow. But if you want to understand your body, learn how to regulate your nervous system through restorative flows, and deepen your philosophical understanding of yoga, I would love to guide you.
Nishtha Bijlani
I found yoga when I needed it most, and now I share that journey with you. I am not a teacher who stands at the front of a room; I am a guide for your self-enquiry. Let’s pause, breathe, and find your home within.
