My Journey: From 9-to-5 to Full-Time Caricature Artist

I never planned to be a full-time artist; I was just a guy who loved the cartoons in the morning paper. When I started sketching friends, I realized that a good caricature isn't about exaggerating features to mock someone, but about highlighting the joy in their personality. Whether I’m working on a digital file in my studio in Chinchwad or sketching live at a wedding, that core principle—capturing true happiness—stays the same.

My journey began as a hobby. I was working a standard job, but I kept finding myself inspired by the editorial cartoons in the Times of India. I decided to learn from a mentor, and what started as a few gifts for friends turned into Naik Graphics.

I realized quickly that caricature art is more than just funny drawings; it’s a way to freeze a moment of laughter. Today, my work spans across India, and I’ve been fortunate to draw everyone from digital influencers to regular folks celebrating their big days.

How I Work

I bridge the gap between traditional skill and modern convenience. While I started with pen and paper, I now specialize in both:

• Digital Caricatures: I use an Apple Pencil and Procreate to craft high-resolution illustrations. No AI filters—just hand-drawn work that ensures your personality shines through. These are perfect for custom gifts, social media profiles, or printing on merchandise.
• Live Event Sketching: This is where the magic happens. Whether it is a corporate event, a wedding, or a flea market, I set up a booth to engage with your guests. It’s a great icebreaker and leaves guests with a personal, hand-drawn souvenir.
